I know the average age of Brits in TRNC is probably a bit on the high side for this, but does anyone know if there is any semi-organised rock climbing in the Besparmaks?

Most climbing is frowned upon in the TRNC I practise absailing down Girne Castle walls wityh the Civil Defence. All 112 volunteers are trained in the same way. on the 9th December the eldest to descend was 68 years young. The army here do not likr people rock climbing. Hope this helps

Do you mean the pot on the northern side of five finger depth about 200m there are two pots there they with one entrance they split about 50m down they were decended certainly in the late 60's.

Nige,

That sounds like Stuart the geologist. He knows me through Steve Dickinson. If you see him first tell him I'd like to speak to him, please.

The day I ever make a serious comment on this board will be the same day the the Girne Bypass will be open to all and sundry.

My comments on potholling was refering to the endless quarrying in and around the vicinity of the 5 fingers mountains, which would result in the hilly bit dissapearing and great big holes appearing in their place.

Sorry to disapoint.
