We are starting to host a texas hold'em poker night every Wednesday at the Five Fingers, Ozankoy, starting on the 15th at 7.30pm. We will oviously not be "gambling" and certasinly at first will just give a bottle of wine or something similar for the winner. We think that the first couple of weeks will be more of an introduction to the game with an explanation of the rules so that everybody get get to a level where they can feel confident playing.After that we will decide amongst ourselves how the evenings will be set up.

Can get crowdy, you might need multiple poker tables and dealers.



On top of everything, how are you planning to circumvent the legal issues?



There are many countries who regard Texas Hold'em, especially tournaments, as sports, unfortunately, NCyprus is not one of them.

Of course we realise that "true" gambling can only take place in properly licensed establishments.

As I said above, initially we will play for fun whilst we all learn to play the game and I will throw in a prize for the winner. After that there are many systems that work elsewhere that introduce a feeling of gambling without breaking any rules, for example playing with an accumulating points system. If we get enough interest we will discuss all this with the players as we go on.
