Probably not phil, but goo on you for bringing it back, the more signatures the better.

At least we who love the TRNC are trying to help, even if it seems an uphill struggle.

I signed first time around.

I hope you are not advocating democracy.

I would bet 99.9% of people don't bother with any of these things as they daily see a lack of intent and a lack of democracy, for example, ask the entire population of the UK (and they must answer) if they want monies spent on elderly care, or a cash handouts for Abu Qatada, what will the answer be?

And will he get is hand outs?

System needs people in place with the balls to act, what the country has is a bunch that has captulated to Brussels and the do good brigade.

The problem with the e-petition system is that in addition to the 100,000 signatures you must also get an MP to sponsor the debate. The signatures alone are not enough. Only an MP can request the parliamentary time for the debate and then he/she has to persuade the coalition party managers to schedule it - which in practice probably means a coalition MP.

Also, because this is a coalition initiative it may well not be honoured if there is a new government at the next election - which may well happen at the rate signatures are being collected.

I am not trying to knock the iniative but we supporters should understand the realities.

Does anyone know if any laws are being reviewed?

Successive govs don't listen!

Politicians rely on the apathy and stupidity of the 60 odd per cent who can't be bothered or are too ill informed or ill educated to vote which is why the UK is in the state it's in !!

We should forget parties, vote for the best policies and hold the bastards to their promises !!
