For years now I have been an avid supreme super market shopper, which was until today when I was near to Lemar in karakum and thought to myself, maybe I should give then a try today as I was on my way from town and going to supreme.

Well I got a right little shock today,i bought my normal fortnightly shopping as i only shop once every 2 weeks with being on my own, And I was very shocked that my shopping bill was much cheaper than normal.

The last time I went into Lemar to shop was maybe more than 4 years and it was expensive, the choice of products now is great and they have now won back my custom because the prices I would say are better than where I have been shopping for the last 4.5 years.

I would say the difference in total was 20%, 25 to 30tl in my purse extra is great

Hi

Agree totally with you. Supreme has been my choice of supermarket for some time but now

they have become expensive. I go over the mountain to the Eroklu supermarket. As you

say a big saving on a large shop.

I agree the one over the mountain is the best value the supermarkets around Girne you must choose the bargains from each one to keep the costs down

But how much do you save building in the cost of your petrol going over the mountain also the risk of driving on that awful road.

I completely agree. Not only does Lemar offer better choice and value, but I also know for a fact that they treat their suppliers better. Please note that it might be libelous to suggest that Supreme is run by a crook, so I am not suggesting that. I leave that to others.

I was in the new Lemar by the Cratos yesterday, and while there were about 20 cars outside, the shop was virtually empty.

Strange, nice and clean, organised, maybe wrong time of the day, but we were there for an hour or so as the kids played on the small playpark there.

I did notice there that they put all the expensive imported chocolates easily to find, but you have to search back a little for my favourite Albeni.

Anyone know if it's correct that the old Astro in Alsancak is about to become a Lemar?

Yes here we go again. Post #1 unsupported innuendo, no exact figures on specific items for us to compare, no wonder rumours start here on the 44 and everybody jums on the bandwaggon. Are yous an employee of Lemar's perhaps or do you have a grudge against Supreme? Post fact or don't post at all.

I too have noticed quite a substantial rise in prices in Supreme recently and have started shoppng elsewhere for most things. Everyone has the choice to "vote with your feet"

I tend to shop between two or three markets as i know which are cheaper than others for some things and i have time to do it. I went to Erulku on wednesday on my way back from the airport. The fruit and veg are good and cheap but electric items have gone through the roof there.

There are pro`s and con`s in all of them. The only thing that I have found on a number of items is that Tempo`s prices on the shelves don`t match the price when at the till.

Once when I could be bothered to query it they did honour the lower price.

I agree, the Supreme has become more expensive, untidy and uninspiring.

Message 13: Bektas did not close down for trade reasons but because the owners of the property are in financial trouble and I believe their bank are attempting to sell the building.

At least with Lemar the price items are marked up as on the shelves are normally always what you get charged for at the check out. Sadly in my experience this is not always the case in a lot of the other supermarkets.
