Have you ever been in a strange car and needed to fill up with petrol and before you reach the pumps you have to stop and get out too check which side the cap is on. Well I have only just learnt that on the petrol gauge inside the car there is a small picture of a petrol pump, and which ever side the hose is on this picture is the side your petrol cap is on. Amazing stuff you learn everyday. Now go and check bet someone proves me wrong.

had this thread before, and its not the same with all vehicles, as I looked at mine and others reported the same

Just looked at mine, its on the wrong side. I mean the picture on the dash display has the hose on the right side, but my cap is on the left side so its the wrong side, if it were on the right side then the dash display would be right because that shows it on the right side. Merry Christmas.

Actually I think you'll find that the pump hose legend is not as important as the little triangular arrowhead which most dashboards display next to the image of the petrol pump... the last five cars I've owned have all had the arrowhead pointing in the correct direction...
