try adding the following

12.402

V

27.5

2/3

save the regional itv channels you want and access them through services , additional channels etc, you wont be able to sky plus though!! There is a +1 channel there may be useful to save

I have it on good authority that it is all to do with a change of satellite. Our Channel 4 has gone, too. We are still able to receive Channel 5HD and a different ITV from our usual one. Looks like it's going to be bye,bye to several of our popular channels for those with the BIG dish. We have lost +1 and additional channels doesn't work.

Channells have been lost due to them being transfered from satellite astra 2D to astra 1N which only covers north europe, BBC could also follow the same transfer of satellites. Is there another frequentcy for channel 4, and is it possible to record from additional channels.?

You can't record from additional channels. We have lost all channel 5s except 5HD due to the reason above re change of satellite.

Does this problem only relate to a 4.2m dish?

I ask becuase I have a 1.8m offset dish and I have not lost any channels. I can still get ITV1 and ITV+1 (most regions) as well as C4 and C4+1.

I do not get these in HD, even though I have an HD box and pay for HD.

We lost channel 4 last night. I just recovered it using the advise in message 4 above.

Go to "services" go to sky set up, scroll along to add chanells, use the down arrow key to frequency, change that to 12.402, hit the yellow button it searches for extra channels, save channel 4, press select. You should be able to get the channel now by using other channels. Hope this helps?

If you have HD channel 5 is on 171. No, you cannot record channels on "other channels"

The problem is down to the fact that the broadcaters are switching the channels carried by Astra 2D satellite to the new Astra 1N which has much tighter beam than 2D, and is not available to us in Cyprus.

The channels effected are mainly the "free" channels 2D have been transmitting for the past 10 years..

First they switched over channel FIVE group then last tuesday morning they switched over another 3 transponders and this morning they moved another 3 transponders leaving only 2, which carry BBC package..

By the looks of it, the remaining two BBC transponders might be switched over very soon leaving no "free" channels available...

Presently 12402V still has some regions of ITV1 and 12480V has Channel 4,both being encrypted by SKY's NDS system and requiring either a subscription card or a freesat card, but there is no guarantee how long they will remain being encrypted and available!!

Please can you clarify what you mean by "free". Is that Freeview? I access my channels via Sky on a 4.2m dish and have a UK Sky HD+ subscription with a card. Will I still be able to receive these channels? I

I have a sky world package with a sky + HD box which is the full subscrition and a 4.2 dish and I have also lost ITV and channel four, so the mind bogles on how some one with a 1.8 dish is not affected, best of luck to you and long may it last.

We had Film4 and Film4+1 until recently, also More4.

I tried More4 on the other channels set up but it now says needs subscription.

I guess we need to start a rota to check the channels occasionally to know when some return.

4.2 Alsancak, various boxes, but no E4 even on the Pace 2600's

BBC 1,2,3,4

C4, C4+1 and ITV now on additional channels

PickTV and +1

If anyone getting anything esle would be grateful for details.

Thanks

ITV2/ITV3/ITV4 are only in HD and encrypted by SKY, so they require an HD box with a SKY sub card (NOT freesat card)

no need for the capital letters....

Go to "add channel" in the menu and do a search on 12402V for ITV1 and 12480V for Ch4.

For Kadam: I have a 2.4m dish, I gdet ITV2 HD on the regular EPG as I have a SKY sub. And the other ones as per my earlier post. Ch5 HD on Ch 171. ITV ones on 118,119, 120.

Maybe your dish needs re-aligning? Contact Iceman.

We also have a 4.2 dish and HD Box. We have managed to get the channels back and view them under settings but if BBC move over then I guess we are going to lose some of the best channels we have in terms of watching them at our leisure? We bought purely for the recording ability and setting reminders? If they move everything over then unless some genius out there can resolve these issues I spose we will be dismantling our UFO in the garden and changing to another system? Absolutely gutted!

There is another way of course to record those channels that are in the 'Other channel' area and that is to play them via your DVD recorder and you can record them.

OK you may lose a little quality but BBC isn't on HD anyway.

You can of course catch up on ITV player.

We're still getting Channel 4 HD and ITV Central south-west through Add Channels. We can get Channel 5 HD on 171. Trouble is that we went to the expense of a 4.2m dish in order to receive our well-known English channels which we enjoy very much. Feel so sad that they are being taken from us now.

Message for Iceman: No more need to remove incey wincey spider from our big dish now!! Life won't be the same. I assume that the Sky signal will remain strong.

Some has suggested a dreambox, illegal I believe, but for 400tl you can get all sky, Etc.

Another method is a slingbox, where if you have sky in the UK you can connect to here with the slingbox?
