Just been informed or (Misinformed) from TC man, From the 1st Jan when you leave at the border in your car you can't bring any more passengers back in than you went out with, unless you are a licensed cab, CRAZZZYYY, Don't they want people to come here to visit. That would make it compulsory to add the taxi fare to the already expensive flights. I blame the RAKI if true.

What so you cant even pick your family and friends up, didnt they try this about a year ago with Ercan and it failed. How do they even know how many people are travelling in one car?? I am never asked for a registration number.

Bloody daft, all you would have to do is get out and walk through, so can't see it happening. They can't refuse you entry based on your method of arrival, surely.

Your car registration number is logged every time you drive over the boarder along with the names of the passengers.

So when there is a line of about 20 cars and everybody runs to the passport office with a handful of passports and they do not ask for the registration number 1) how can they log the car 2) how do they know how many people are travelling in said car.

When they say T plated they mean licensed to carry passengers, you will see it on the reg number 1st letter, all the passenger carrier vehicles, Like Buses, Taxi's , Dolmus, This is the T they cover when going south. As they cant trade in south Cyprus with it but do, with private bookings.

lol sorry, i was thinking no wonder they aroused suspicion if they were travelling in a foreign car.

I still cant see how they can enforce it, the whole border thing baffles me, i went over and back with an out of date passport and nobody battered an eyelid

Sound like sheer desperation, we can only expect more of this bull**** as the place drifts down the pit of despair, if the goverment want to make themselves a laughing stock here going the right way about it. With the way the euro is to the £ a holiday in a Lira zone may look attractive next year, but once again this lot want to shoot themslves in the foot.

Loads of TC taxi owners buy a second car just to do Larnaca trips without T plates,

so the Licensed taxi with a Turkish driver can work the legal one in north, so it's all double standards to me.

We go to the border and pick up English friends who are there on holiday or live in the South. Like everything else to the TRNC its going down the pan the goverment should be encouraging visitors. With the state of the pound nothing is value for money anymore.

Double standards-> tell me where you DONT have them? you can split them up in 1000s standards - but this refers to anywhere in the world! money standards, diplomatic standards, citizen standards (even tese can be splited up into 100s) -- stop crying

Who is doing the crying! The so called legal ones, the illegal ones, or genuine people that go and pick up relatives and friends.
