Dippersgirl, I haven't found yet the pictures I told you about yesterday - but here's a link that may give you some information (also about the Swedish expedition to Cyprus of 1935)

Dippersgirl: I found some pics from the exhibition in Side Streets (Nicosia, 2007). Unfortunately they are bad, because I had to use the flashlight very close to the exhibited material. However some text about the Swedish expedition in Cyprus (1931-35) is very interesting! Read and imagine how many Cyprus' treasures have left the country throughout the centuries..!

A map showing the places where the Swedes did their digging:

I'll try to find more about Kings Hill for you.

Do you agree that excavated findings, now in no matter which museum in the world, should be returned to the country of origin?

Interested in opinions pro and con!

@ msg 8, Woodspeckie: The picture is in a To-do folder on one of my hard drives - and you'll get your answer. Sorry, some historical work had priority in the past months!

Hans, I found all sorts of interesting info, but not much directly on Kings Hill. there are some books, but I don't want to buy something unless I'm quite sure of the information inside. I did find a report a little while ago and I will send you the link, you might know some of the people involved and that might take me further.

At the moment I want to know most of all what happened to the artifacts that where found not so long ago. They were going to open a museum in Kaleburnu and had a building earmarked for it, but somehow this did not happen, but where are the artifacts??

@ msg 11, Dippersgirl: I don't want to give you incomplete information so I've asked Professor Allan Langdale (USA/Cyprus) for contacts with authority. As soon as I have them I'll let you know. This may take a couple of days so please be patient.

Hans:

I had found this, but it does not answer my questions. I suppose I could write to Tübingen, but that can come later
