| Hi, I have just recently received a seemingly inocuous Email from Kofali. The mail contained a link the also seemed very ordinary. On clicking the link my (other) PC was immediately infected with a Spy Bot virus that uses you mail account to distribute spam messages to anyone in your Email listings. DO NOT OPEN THIS LINK!!!! Be safe, DD |

| Dublinderm the first stage to removing a virus would be to identify what virus it is. Hopefull you have some virus protection software on your machine. If the virus has not damaged or disabled this then run a full scan, this should identify the virus. It may also be able to clean it up as well, but depending on the virus software you are using it may not but should at least get it identified. If you do not have virsu protection software on your machine or the virus itself has damaged or is blocking it from running you could try an online virus checker. This is one of the better ones in my opinion http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/ This should if it runs ok at least identify the virus for you. The ultimate way to clean up a virus would be to do a reinstal of windows / factory reset of your machine but this would loose all your data on it, like photos and word documents and the like. You could back these up but its possible the virus would transfer via such if you are not careful. |
