Does anyone know of a timber merchant that cuts the wood to size, we are in Lapta, so somewhere near us would be good.

A guy called Steve who used to build sheds used to get his wood planned locally, but don't know where.

Probably a daft question, but what needs cutting?

Wood is avilable here an a range of sizes, normally the contruction plan would be to build with available sizes.

If it's sheet wood you mean, then I have a feeling you will have to buy (or borrow) a saw (manual or circular).

Hi Honeybun,

I'm fairly certain that Sparks in Karsiyaka cut timber to size, worth a drive up and asking.

Hi Stu

Thanks for that, if we are driving from lapta, what side of the road is 'Sparks'?

Yyret (message 2)

My husband has all the saws (electric, hand saws etc.,) we only wanted a piece 2ft x 2ft and the merchants we have gone to only sell by the sheet. We will try 'Sparks' and if no luck will have to buy the full sheet. Thanks for all your help

Hi honeybun,

As you come up from lapta you will pass the Karsiyaka square on your right hand side and about 200metres past that there are a few shops set back off the road on the right. Sparks is the first one. If you come to a bar/restaurant called Benjamin gardens on the left, you have came too far,but it is fairly easy to find.

I wouldn't travel up today as I dont think he is open on a Sunday.

Good luck,

Stu.

Hi Stu, wanted to thank you as we found 'Sparks' and you was right, he cut us a piece to size (it is for the trap door into loft). We also purchased a few odds and ends, and will definitely being using it for our local DIY, he was so helpful and he speaks perfect English having lived there. Thanks again
