See for yourself - I can tell you that with the breeze it seems about 5 degrees below the ambient temperature due to wind chill, so the real feel is about 2 degrees C.

7 degrees here in Karsiyaka, which is under cover but in the sun. It feels more like 2 degrees with the cold wind

I think it is because we are at the end of the mountain range and the wind rages through here!

Fire lit and thermal vest on. Not going anywhere today, sun or not!

Hi Mike.

This is what I always find interesting, as you say some areas temps are warm to sit in shorts etc, yet going by the weather temp seems low, sometimes its best to ask the locals such as your self and other kind folk who can report back !! cheers

Foothills of the Troodos (Lefke & surrounds) peaked around 16C at 2 pm today, sheltered from the wind but a big chill factor. Forecast -3C degrees overnight.

There was frost on the grass in Çatalköy this morning at around 6.45 am and also frost on the car windscreen. All gone by 8.15am when I left for work though!

Grey, I nearly always find that it is best to ask the locals for exact feedback on the weather, and also the weather varies so much over TRNC, Famagusta and Nicosia always appears warmer than the rest of the North only my opinion though !!

A few years ago when we were over at Christmas it was sooooooooooo cold hats/glove weather !!

Any one any more comments please ? are you sitting out in the sun ? any one ?

Steve, this is my 3rd.fulltime winter in Kibris.Like the rest of Europe this is by far the coldest.I think we had the usual "February"rain in January....an odd day of rain, and have to water some undercover pots.

I'd estimate 5 deg colder than usual...I have seen forecasts end of cold snap in about a week, and temps to 17deg.roll on.....I planted some broad beans, mange tout peas a month ago,and they are through the ground. As I said, had breakfast at 0830 on the patio in the sunshine !!!

Pipie Msg 10

From a Cypriot yesterday when the third 'Cemre' occurs Cyprus will sunny once again for the expected future.

I did a bit of research.... Cemre....any of three radiations of heat which supposedly fall in succession from the sun into the air, the water, and the earth in February and March.

Anyone else heard of this strange phenomenon?

Cemre is not a "radiation" or something.. its just a metaphore used to define the start of warming up of the air, water and the ground as they start warming up at different times.. there is no physical actual thing falling down from above or something..

I use this site and they are amazingly acurate!! They give up to 15 days and you also can see hourly, night and day

Also I found that the 'map' they have is clearer and more recent than the google Earth version. Could find our house really easily and see even the fence and little stone wall!!

It says now is 10 deg C and I went and checked the thermometer and it said the same!!

Msg22 The clue is in the first few words.......any of three radiations of heat which ''supposedly'' fall in succession......but manly people firmly believe it to be a reality.

Interesting article Newlad Post 23 thank you, hope springs eternal, it'll do for me!
