Hunnie,my dog,was found on a skip,in a black bag, about 6 weeks old,Sept 2010.Usually If I go away,I arrange she stays with friends. This weekend,I decided to trust my little pooch.Oh I have a donum of fenced and walled land.Obviously I left her food and water, left midday Saturday, returned Sunday 4pm,Hunnie still here guarding the property, what a wonderful dog to have.

The mind boggles. You left her in a fenced and walled garden and are amazed she is still there when you got back.

I love her to pieces,,but nice to know I can leave her for 1 night ONLY,in 1 donum of land, roaming free, and protecting my property.with adequate food and water

Don't judge me,if you do not know me,and my love for Hunnie

Mikelapta, ignore anonymous posters. Don't give intrinsic replies to sneaky cowards, hiding their identity. Say hello to that great dog of yours, Hunnie.

Is an "intrinsic" (sic) reply like a Topset reply?

Philbailey , not that i have to explain myself to you , but at the moment i am struggling to keep up with the posts and the e-mails . Just for your records , mikelapta is not a mate , i have never met him i wouldn't know him if he came up and bit me on my bottom . If that's all you can come up with , don't waste your time

Surely he wouldn't bite you on the bottom, strange as he is?

What a little love bug she is, however, it's been down to 3deg or less at night with horrendous rain and I do hope she had decent accommodation to snuggle into?

Wash your mouth out Hans.

Turtles are endangered but while ever the TRNC exists dogs won't have that problem.

Hunnie is the image of my little Cyprus Terrier (except mine is older) and I am sure mine would wait as well - Cyprus terriers are clever little dogs and know when they are well off.

But seriously Mike, not ill intentioned but are you sure that is wise - I suspect mine would cry for me at least when it got dark and she is terrified of thunder and is used to coming to me for comfort. Also

I left a dog for ten minutes while I went to the local shop in a walled and fenced garden (admittedly

my garden is smaller) and came back to find poison had been thrown over the wall and it was in agony.

Dog ARE an endangered species in N. Cyprus

Mike I know how much you love Hunni, as I did also. I remember her with little Tess , the last one I rescued. I know you would ensure her safety and care. As Hans said take no notice. Hunni knows how much she is loved. Miss you and thank you for your messsage.

I must say my feeling on this ! Its such a shame that she was left out when it was such a cold night :(

Did you have your gate padlocked I would have a fear she would be taken from the garden, we have a friend who's dog was stolen from her garden just last week !

Hunni must have after so long started to feel that you may have abandoned her too :(

Please Mike if you need to do this again we would be more than happy to look after her,she would sleep in the comfort of our home.she would have warmth and love. Also happy times playing with our pets. The offer is there but please remember its far kinder to keep her safe, happy and warm. JMHO.

Oh and our friend Kristina would have been very happy playing with her too

Actually that was a very clever wheeze , Mike!! Congratulations!

Leave your little doggie out in the cold and you get offers to look over the poor mite.

Wonder if it would work for me. If I left mine out, would someone take pity on them and offer me the chance at last to get a break- I cant remember when I could last have more than two or three hours away from home - let alone a weekend.!

There are lots of kennels around the TRNC who I am sure could fit your dogs in for a weekend.
