If you are using the 'for iplayer desktop' download options then that should be working. I just tested it from here and its working fine for me right now.

As to why it is not working on your machine it is very hard to 'diagnose' such things. One thing you can try is to unistall bbc iplayer desktop and then reinstall it again. Sometimes this can sort problems out. There is also alot of help on the sites the BBC recommends which can be found here

If you want do feel free to call me on 0392 8155016 and I'll try and offer what help I can over the phone.

why waste your time with vpn's / I Player, when you can down load last nights UK TV, TV series, Movies (brand new and not so new) american TV etc etc - ALL FOR FREE.

UK TV

TV Series

Movies

TV and Movies

And as you are downloading them to your hard drive - if the internet goes off, you can still watch your favourite programme.

We have a separate computer linked into the internet thats downloading from the above sites all the time and connected to a 51" Plasma screen - the result is gob smacking

And shed loads better than faffing round with vpns / I Player - in fact the best solution for decent TV abroad.

and apart from 20 quid a month for the internet connection - there's no more to pay.

Last night watched "The Grey" in DVD quality - and its no

You can indeed find much content via torrents, both BBC TV content and much more besides. However torrents do have their potential downsides as well. You do not always know that what you will get from the torrent is what it says it is and in the worst cases there are torrent files out there that claim to be such and such a movie but in fact are just an attempt to get virus onto your machine. It's rare but it can happen. Then you can not always tell what quality will be like, was it filmed in a cinema with an hand held camera for example ? What language is it in ? Often until you download it you do not know these things.

I am not saying do not download content via torrents, I am just pointing out that they have thier limitations and risks. I personaly download content from a range of different sources but generally if it is BBC content I want and it is available from the BBC direct, that is my first choice as a source for such content.

NN I too have used torrent based downloads for as long as they have existed. It is a source for 'content', that is no doubt. However if you are saying you have never downloaded a movie torrent only to discover that it was not the movie you wanted, or the quality was terrible or it was in another language in the two years you have been doing such, then you are indeed very lucky. I have also personaly seen downloaded torrents that claim to be a certain movie which are in fact just an attempt to get a virus on your machine, I am not making this up. The normal means of doing this is to use 'scripting' within windows media player that then downloads the virus in the background. So whilst you may not have ever encountered this it is real none the less.

Like I say, for me if I want BBC content and its avaialbe direct from the BBC, that is the first place I seek to get it from. It is zero cost as well. Why look elsewhere ?
