Visited in laws in Perth, Western Australia a few years ago and they used to have a phenomenon that appears to be starting here. That is people who move to the area, do not like it and move back to UK. After a few months they decide that UK was not that good after all and return again.

So the term, originating from the term "Poms" became - To And Froms!!!!

I wonder how many of those suddenly making a quick exit from TRNC will either return or end up in some other European Backwater?

I can't see that the UK will offer these people anything better than they have here, apart from the benefit system.

I meant to say that I feel people here are depressed at the moment what with the uncertainty regarding the current talks, the Orams affair and more importantly the cost of living.

if the cost of living in trnc is bad then i think people will get a shock when they go back to the uk, as its a disaster!!

lulubell..Its not that bad..food prices are coming down ,fuel prices are coming down albeit not as fast as they should. the only thing we really need is for the energy companies to bring down there prices and that will help no end.I have started shopping in Aldi/Lidl and there prices are much better than the big three. You gotto save where you can....

Having moved arround a fair bit over the years I think returning to anywhere you lived before after a few years is usually disappointing as things change rapidly and you tend to remember the good things about the place and returning tends to spoil it.

yes coachie,i agree def have to shop around, not sure about uk, but here in northern ireland things are very expensive and dont seem to be going down at all!!! And people dont seem to be spending at all which is hard as my line of business is a luxury when moneys tight. Personally i cannot wait to move to cyprus next year, even if its tough i think a far better place to bring up a family.

and message 7 yes i have have to agree with you i have lived abroad and spent 9 years living in italy like you say you remember things differently and it really wasnt what we remembered it to be like one thing i have learned a holiday somewhere is one thing living your day to day life is another and i think this is where people get dissapointed as its never one long holiday!!! if only life was....
