Paying property tax in Alsancak

Does anyone now how or when this is billed as a good friend has not been billed with this but they do not have the Kocan yet,are they responsible or is it the builder? any informed answersor sugestions gratefully received

Not much chance of any builder paying it, in fact none.

If you don't pay it, it will be back dated another year.



Bills normally come out about March, they don't seem to mind if you are slow paying it.

If you pay water by direct debit, it comes out through the year in installments so no need to even go to pay it.

If you live in the house, you should be paying the Property Tax.

Re post 2 In Alsancak you have to go into the office to pay the property tax even if you pay your water monthly by direct debit

Never have done yet, even checked wth Mr Salih (upstairs office) the first year and took the tax bill and the water bills to show him, all taken out through the year with the water bill.

I hope you're not paying twice becasue at the counter, if you take the bill they will take the money off you and not know you are on DD for water and bills.

How do you recieve the bill?they pay water monthly and utilities annually but have never resieved a property tax bill.

The best way to check is to take a copy of your contract and title deed to the Belediyesi and let them check their records. If it is extremely high, ask for a breakdown - there may be several years outstanding but you should only agree to pay from when you took possession.

if you pay for your water by the new meter card system the utility charges are added on to your water costs at time of topping up card, look at your printed receipt and you will see a breakdown of charges

We went down to the Alsancak office last October with our Kojan and water bills, they were unable to find us on their system, even though we had paid the property tax at the District Office in years past, before we went over to Alsancak. We were advised that they would send the guys over to measure our property but we're still waiting for them to turn up. Luckily, our TC neighbour said she would come down with us to sort it out for us.
