at present on cyprus 44 there are 100 threads on page 1 , at least 40 of them are advertising in some shape or form , this is boring , cant a page be set up such as the for sale one , so all the advertisers can be in the one place , and any one looking for said advertisers will know where to find them ?

Excellent idea. I can't understand why this forum doesn't have separate discussion areas, so we can concentrate on what we're interested in.

I'd start with:

For Sale

Lost Dogs

Events

Wanted

General bitching

Arguing the toss about the "cyprus problem"

I agree with Rowlo, It's annoying, especially when some advertisers endlessly post 'btt'!

As I have probably said before I am a fairly long term member of this forum.I have never known it to be so boring. There used to be some very lively discussions, and even if you did not agree with some of the views expressed, it was usually thought provoking and entertaining. I am fed up with restaurants forever posting their latest menu or members starting discussions that have nothing to do with N Cyprus.

Another annoying habit that has crept in is "BTT" This should be knocked on the head. There must be somewhere else the request for whatever, can be advertised

Please, please moderators divert some of these topics to the relevant forum eg items for sale and wanted moved to the For Sale Section.

I'm with you Rowlo on this one.

And apologies flossie as I am guilty of the back to the top especially when it concerns health. So will continue to do so.

I am also bored with all the advertisements and think it is a really good idea to split them off from normal Forum activities

Msg 15

If only sober postings were allowed, C44 would be either a bland or blank forum. Keep your sobriety thoughts to yourself!

I agree that a few subdivisions would help: "Lost and Found" for instance could include dogs and other items. Clearer heading would also help - "clever" ones just waste time and irritate.

The most useful posts are those where people need info or directions about where goods and services are available and could do with a section to themselves though I can offhand think of a name!

I have given up hope of an interesting , sensible and constructive discussion on anything here - on the rare occcasion when one starts it is hijacked by moaners,, or people with their own row to hoe, or just intent on making (sometimes offensive and dangerous )) mischief. I feel really sorry for the mods.

Anothe Boards have a separate forum (sometimes called "the Pub" where anyone who wants to go on for a general chat - say they need to talk about a newspaper headline or share something funny they have seen or heard, can do so without disrupting the main them.

Speaking purely as an ordinary poster it was the lack of seperate pages that first drew me to 44. I like to read bits and pieces of all sorts but I do echo the calls above for the titles to relate to the topic.

I also am not a huge fan of Back to the top posts but hope people can use them judiciously. With my Forum admin hat on now, we try to look sensibly at these but I do agree that there have been too many on non essential threads recently so I will look more critically.

Maybe I am old fashioned but the old 'it ain't broke, so why fix it works for me' and I can choose what I want to read from the list. Just me though, everyone has a right to an opinion.

Maybe a section for each nationality.

That way we can find a cubby hole for Dutch and another for Turkish Cypriots who won't tolerate any criticism of their pathetic corrupt "country."

I don't see what the problem is, it's helpful to see what services there are around, that's the great advantage of Cyprus44 and I'm sure many people who rarely comment appreciate it rather than some of the silly discussions that go on and the unpleasant few who have nothing but unhelpful things to say. Also infinitely better than reading the ramblings of above.

Has someone broken a rule of the forum? Clearly not.

Are you an admin or a nanny?
