And what is your definition of a 'modern democratic society'? Have you been reading those strange magazines again?

No, More likely to have radical right wing factions raising their heads under current prospects. Certainly some very right wing participators on the forum of late.

Right wingers should be exiled to some faraway desert island where they can do no harm. These types have brought nothing but war and ruin to Cyprus. Right wing in this part of the world tends to mean chauvanistic, militaristic, ultra-nationalistic and fascist. And what did they do to the island? I'm not a political animal, but the leftists must be supported in every way to stay in power on both sides of Cyprus. Firstly, neither side is particularly socialist, but more importantly the leftsists in Cyprus have historically been the only ones who believe in unity and equality for ALL Cypriots. Theyt are the only ones who can be trusted with Cyprus. The fascists and partitionists must never again have power.

What is Communism? Look around the world and examine countries that are or have acknowledged being Communist. Or maybe they are just Socialist!!!!!!!!!!!! I believe the leading exponent right now is China. They profess to being Communist at certain events but they operate a very effective managed economy. Right now the currency is making a nonesense of the dollar and they have a massive exporting system. If you have not watched, try CCTV9 on the satillite thingy, it is the Chinese English language news channel and there is some superb info on there. OK it is stage managed but....... Also, after 60 years China and Taiwan have opened up direct transport links this week. So to return to question, the communists are failing so far here, why??? Nothing to do with politics would be my view, just a failure of Politics. I do not believe there is a will on either side to accept what is on offer on the other side. May that continue to prevail!!

Like the Lefties have done anything good for Britain??? You say you are not a political animal, this is plainly apparent from the ludicrous diatribe written by yourself.

I dont believe there is such a thing as communism..True communism means one for all and all for one..so how come everybody are not equal in so called communist states.ie all the top commies run around in posh cars ,have big houses, the very best of clothing and food. How come some of the richest people in the world come from the lateUSSR and how long is it since they became free of the word Communist. I think the nearest country to communism is Cuba...free medical care ,education, state benefits for all,and not many billionaires there...

gibson msg 7, Of course you would have at least some credibility had you shown an alternative opinion or any political knowledge. But you can't do it.

People who want to experience real Marxist communism should visit Cuba. A little goes a long way over there, the rum and salsa is good but the food is rubbish. The heroic murals are something else.

I agree Coachie its amazing how a select few repress the masses and live the high life themselves. However left leaning socialists are just as bad.

msg10 Of course I have an opinion and if you had the sense to read between the lines you would see that I think Communism and being left wing are total bull----. They are simply used by the rulers to feather their own nests. I would have thought your intelligence would have allowed you to see this.Obviously not though so I apologise for that
