We have a approved transport company who will come over to the TRNC to collect pets and deliver them to you in the UK. They are happy to take both cats and dogs on the same run.

http://www.paws-kennels.com

Based in Bulgaria and English owned, they have been taking pets back from Turkey for a few years, so are very exerienced in what they do.

They can take a max of 10 pets at one time, transported in a specially fitted large van.

The journey time is 7 days with a 2 day stop over in Bulgaria so the pets can rest and be cleared by an EU vet. Third country / TRNC paperwork will then be exchanged for an EU pet passport, as this makes the journey time/ red tape time less.

The basic price is from the TRNC to Dover UK, but they are happy to deliver to your door, please ask them for a quote for that.

They could be collecting from the TRNC within 4-6 weeks if there is enough interest.

For prices and to register your interest.

Call John Terry on 0533 - 8326375 or speak to Sara at Top Dog Hotel

I am not impressed by what I am seeing with these new pet courier services to UK. Animal couriers and paws-kennels. Why would anyone want to subject their pet to overland travel when it can be put on a plane here and sent directly to Istanbul/France within 24 hours. Too much stress and too much money, sounds like a good idea but not the easy way out.

Please be ware anyone taking their pet back to Europe that the flight option is quicker and cheaper and less stressful for pets.

C'mon Yorgozlu. Most people in TRNC want a legal way to get their pets out, I am shocked that you as a citizen are advocating this method. Yes, may work but why risk it? You are just perpetuating the sad, truthful myth that TC's are crooks. I await the onslaught. ............true or false?

I thought it was illegal for a 3rd country vet to sign paper work to say a dog had had rabies vaccinations if in fact it was NOT that particular vet that had administered it. The rabies vaccinations will surely have had to have been administered here in the TRNC with the necessary time lapse to check on the animal afterwards?

I would imagine you have meaningful conversations with your "animals" I also would guess they talk back to you,.. you probably dress them up in "human" clothes and feed them human food thats fine whatever floats your boat.

Lets not get abusive its not nice,.. perhaps your contemp for human life is a little misguided dogs are fine I have had many myself all part of my family but they know their place and thats how it should be.

Just my opinion of course.

Bazzagirl,

Can you please tell everyone what your over all costs were for a comparison for people.? Also the arrival handeling charges / extras.?

I recently flew in a dog from Hungary , nov 2011, and found paws overland trip a fair price at that time. ( arround 200 euros cheaper)

Considering this journey the pets will only be in a van for 5 days traveling, as two days will be rest days. Its not like they will be there in the van 24/7. they are offering an all in price, when you fly your pet this often doesn't happen and their are more costs for handling on arrival.

In fact paws offered me a cheaper price than flying my dog but for a time scale reason, with work and stuff before Christmas i wasn't able to work with them.

Yorg, i know where you are coming from. I think it depends on what paperwork you have had done and where. Not sure the Roc is going to accept paperwork from the 'third country' / TRNC. It not that all tc's are crooks, its about needs and must, lol.

There seem to be many questions recently about the ways/costs etc of bringing pets into and out of TRNC.

So for anyone who is interested in bringing pets in from UK - or those going back to UK - (or thinking of taking their pets elsewhere ) :

KAR are organising regular overland trips (hoped monthly from April to July then recommence in Sept) from UK to TRNC and then returning to UK. The whole cost of the trip is shared by ALL the animals owners using it on both inbound and outbound trips. The company is an established UK registered company , DEFRA approved and the couriers come from animal welfare backgrounds. They are also agents for many flight companies to varied destinations and can arrange pick up/drop up from many many places.

So whatever your questions or concerns please contact KAR (0533 869 4098 or email kar@kyreniaanimalrescue.org) they will be able to offer import/export advise on overland and varied flight options in both directions as well as to other countries.

Well , the2ofus,

as you are speaking for KAR can you please sort out your own customers as the feed back is not sounding good. Departure date and full price are what people are moaning about.

Can you also confirm the all in price for the KAR trip as people are worried they are going to be charged extras? or can you confirm that is not the case?

I am not trying to rain on your parade, just offering a fast, legal route for those wishing to go sooner than you can offer, or on a faster legal route.

What i can't understand is why you all feel the need, speaking on behalf of KAR animal charity to put down my offer with an experienced company, when all i am trying to do is help people take their pets home.

Please explain.

Who is trying to "put down your offer" ? !

All I am saying is if anyone wants info ( re prices/routes etc) then they can also contact KAR - exactly the same as in your post 1 you say they can contact John or Sara.

The end result is that people taking pets to UK (or elsewhere) should check all of the options available to make sure they get the service that is best for them and their pets.

climacool,

I think your wrong on that issue. If a courier company who ever they are give a price it should be an all in overall price, without extras.

The airlines also give you a standard price but from experience it will depend on where your pet is landing and at what time of day. If their animal reception center is closed then you may be charged extra / overtime to collect your pet.

My own dog arrived at Larnaca at 2 am in the morning. I was offered two choices, wait until they open and pay a standard unloading charge or pay extra and collect at 2am. As she had been travelling since 2pm the previous afternoon i collected her at 2am and paid.

The2ofus, i agree people should look at all options and work out what is best for their situation, time scale and price.

Racoonchic,

The price from paws is 950 sterling all in. I have posted their price on another forum, sorry you hadn't seen it.

That is from the TRNC to Dover UK, if you want a door to door price please contact http://www.paws-kennels.com directly and they will be happy to do that for you.
