Strangely quiet the English and Welsh supporters are this morning. England played well and lost Wales played no so well and won. Ireland played well in patches and were the best side of the weekend up to now. Fortress Twickenham was shown no respect by the visiting Welsh who in the first 15 minutes looked invincible but credit to the English they fought back and overall I think they were the best side on the day. The controversy will continue about Strettle’s try attempt but the referee gave the right decision. Whether Flood would have converted it is a question that will never be answered. I look forward to this afternoon can the Scots do it? Now is that a balanced view. As the for women's rugby they were obviously let off making the teas for the day.

The ruling quite clearly states that a try is only given , when there is DOWNWARD presure on the ball , if you look at it, the english player has his hand Under the ball when it was being attempted to be put down ,

Mr dear english whinging friends, thoroughly enjoyed the game, hard and fast and again we edged it. The try can only be given with controlled downward presuure and there was not. That was the only time england looked like scoring a try. Priestland should not have gone to the sin bin because it was an english knock on a second before. Well played england you came a very close second

Not as good a match as was expected, but then that always seems to be the case. The decision was made regarding the disallowed try and we have to accept that. One small point regarding it though, was they not playing advantage from a penalty, so shouldn't when the try was disallowed the penalty still have been given? Well done Wales anyway, hope you now go on to get the Grand Slam. English poster ~ No sour grapes! ;-)

Both young teams that should only improve with maturity. My main disappointment was the slowness of both teams using the ball from tackles. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the match, but was expecting better. It did remain quite exciting though with it being so close right until the end.

The most entertaining game this weekend was Scotland and France, probably the best 6 nations game I have seen for many a year. But will it be good enough to save Robinson?

Wales were due a win for the first time at Twickers in a 6 Nations match in 24 years..they did it against a very improving but mainly young inexperienced England side. Watch out in the years to come...could be another long wait again for the Welsh!

Best Scotish performance I have seen by a long chalk, France just kept the edge and deserved the victory. I think Robinsons job is safe for now, the Scots have been conditioned to think along the lines, 'well we didn't loose badly, so we are doing alright!' A lucky and fortunate win by Wales, Strettle was hard done by, clearly controlled downward pressure on the ball as he crossed the line and before he was dispossessed by North, Nevertheless, let the record books show... bad form by him whingeing to the press, won't do him any favours in the future. Should his try have been allowed doubtless it would not have been converted. Well done Wales the better team on the day. All told good experience for the new boys for the benefit of future rugby. A shame Courtney Lawes didn't start and get some telling big hits in! For my part doubts still hang over Stuart Lancaster.

Hippo, not enough humble pie being eaten by your good self and the other doughters. Like I said it takes time to build a team and England are well on the way to having a great team. Wales were by far the best home nations team in world cup, came to Twikers expecting to win but only managed to scrape it. A fantastic match to watch spolit by the official who seems to be only happy when he's got the whistle in his mouth. Had a poor game in South Africa refeering an England game and I thought he could have been better on Saturday. By the way as some people don't seem to keep up with the "Laws" of R.U. there is no longer need for downward pressure on the ball for it to be ajudged to be a try. ( it obviously was) Still a lot of positives from game for England, Lancaster is building a side which will be very close to be Grand Slam Winners next season f not actually winners outright. Over to you Hippo.

Any national team that ships points at home against a 14 man team not playing at it's best doesn't deserve to whinge about the result - you were beaten (get over it). See you next season in Cardiff!!

Whoaa! Laptageezer - stick with slagging off football teams (Arsenal seems to be your favourite).... not nations. It's only a game of rugby. P.S. Thanks for the handouts.. we're very grateful boyo!!

I stand corrected ,downward presure is no longer required , but the ball has to be held on the floor with one or both hands or arms, which was not ( seen) to be done by ref or tv ref

Msg 20 Frying pan, thanks for the vote, bless you. Msg 26 Jonesy299, ''Only a game.... '' I'm staggered! Msg 27 imposoliedus, I think grounded is the word you are seeking but spot on Strettle's actions were not seen by either Steve Walsh or the 4th official, there we go, no sour grapes from me, that's rugby. Some interesting points raised in this article about the game at the former ' Fortress Twickenham'. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2012/feb/26/six-nations-2012-england-wales-talking-points

Good one Jonesy! Yes, the Arse....nal have had a few comments recently but... as Spurs are my team I am certainly not saying anything today!! 2 - 0 up and lose 5 - 2... incredible!! I didn't watch the rugby, not my sport.... and was only commenting on the standard comments that follow such an unexpected and rare result

Nicely done Laptageezer (you're a gent) - I agree that it does seem to stir up the most riduculous 'nation bashing'.. ... but guess what? The true supporters who actually travel to see the matches are down the pub afterwards patting the backs of the winning supporters and having cheerful banter about the game. It'll be the same in Cardiff 17th March when I will either be congratulating our French cousins or accepting a drink from them for a Welsh Grand Slam!!!! That's rugby!!! All the best to Spurs this season (they deserve it)

Throw the ball over the line, 90% of his body was over the line and the ball was grounded = a try. not given so we have to accept the decision even if it's blatently wrong. Enjoy your victory it's been a long time coming and will be longer before it's repeated. We accept that every now and then a minor nation will triumph at twikkers, especially with a fellow celt as 4th official, may as well been french, same decision, and before you say whinging English I watched game with two Welsh lads both rugby players, one of which has worn the jersey of his country at rugby and both agreed under new laws it was a try.!!!!!!! If people are going to state an opinion at least read up on Laws of game.

Please pity poor Cinders his eyesight is failing somewhat-it is probably something to do with wearing those those tinted glasses. England played well as I said and came second. I predict not the first time this present 6 nations.

Hippo at last you got something right !!!!! I do support England my place of birth, oh it was yours as well (but only when it suits) You were telling everyone who would listen and a lot of other people, that the England players were rubbish !!!!! I said give Lancaster time, he's only had 3 games for goodness sake. Like I said Wales to win but a close game, I also predict a French win but again close. That doesn't make England a bad side, a young ,inexperienced side maybe but better than the last lot. See you for a beer later in week, at least you know a little about Rugby !!!!! enough to have a half sensible conversation . I'll bring the "humble pie" for you.
