Just imagine if all the advertising posts and all the animal posts were removed, what would we be left with?

Anyone else finding the Forum rather boring at the moment - too often it is used just to 'snipe' at other posters.

Really finding it tiresome.

Come on all of you, let's have some interesting posts please

Totally agree most of it is rubbish , but if there is good posts that provoke different opinions the mods close them. Posts of restaurant owners selling thier wares do not belong on here

We are the members though, it is down to us to provide interesting topics. If we do not then the advertisements will be all that are left.

We are lucky to have such a well supported Forum, also some excellent, informative postings, just not enough of them.

Even my posting is so boring it is rapidly dropping down the page.

As my old schoolmarm used to say "must do better"!

Hmm, is this the start of a "Cyprus44 Forum uprising"

Surely it is all down to personal perspective. Notwithstanding that, I always looked at the forum in terms of the Cyprus context. For me, it provides a thin thread as alink to where I was born and where my old mum still lives.

It provides me with some ide of what is going on without trying to practice my mostly-forgotten Turkish.

The ads, the all-too-present cat/dog related messages, the personal feuds bizarrely laid bare for us all with the occasional intellectual discussion is what makes the "DNA" of this Forum.

I have always wondered why it has so far been impossible to "migrate" almost like a swarm (!) to a platform such as Facebook or even a better forum architecture so tha tmessages/admin can be better administered.

Alas, we are all still here and I am still trying to work out why on Earth would someone want to retire to some of the locations in NC ;-)

Some would say that the above provides plenty to talk about..

Does anyone ever get banned from Facebook?

Does anyone know?

I have unfriended people, mostly my teenaged grandchildren because I cannot bear the way they speak to each other. I informed them that when they 'began to use "adult language"' then I would 'friend ' them again. They, of course, thought this was hilariously funny!?!?!?

Must be something wrong with me.

Sue, to get banned from facebook is difficult if the password to get on it has been forgotten. I was banned from Atakara (twice) having been seen doing "wheelies" on the back of a trolley down the aisles and for playing hop scotch with an oxo cube on the floor panels. I think there are lots of interesting personalities using the forum, some, beyond belief ! I was once told by a senior policeman that I was a person of interest. I also knew Michael Caine's wife, before he did and, "not a lot of people know that" ! ps. I just looked out the window at the lightening and rain and it has dawned upon me why we all get shorter as we grow older. We have had more years to "shrink" in the damp.

Oops sorry. I meant "lightning" not "lightening" the latter meaning "descent of the uterus into the pelvic cavity late in pregnancy"

BoTanica. So true. I had a scary vision of the Wildebeest (bless her) giving birth to No 6 in the garden whilst thunder and lightning was overhead.
