LindseyL I am sorry but children should be read stories in person, I really would be surprised if anyone would contemplate this. I find this quite sad that someone would pay online to have someone else read their children stories. However, good luck.

It doesn't matter how busy a mum is, she should always have time to read her little one's stories at bedtime.

I totally agree, reading bedtime stories is part of the fun of having kids and how do they help you to turn the page and point to things in the story? Crazy world if you have to resort to Skype! (IMO)

I would always be the first to support new enterprising ideas for NC, especially related to children/youth - a good example is the "potteryBarn" concept that is listed elsewhere here. However, I would be concerned about children being read stories exclusively in the suggested way. For me, the story-telling experience I shared with my children was far more than the act of reading a story. The experience is not just about the child "receiving" a story. One of my cherished memories is my daughter reaching a point when she could read the same story book back to me - with all the sound effects that I devised when I used to read it before she could read !. Anyway, in short, I would say that unless you make time to read stories to your children you will miss out on a priceless period of your child's development.
