Silver jewellery is cheaper in N.Cyprus I would say, and lovely, unusual

designs. Not sure about gold, but you only seem to be able to get 9ct

in U.K. these days, and wouldn't look at anything less than 18ct. which you

would get in N.C

Dubai is the place for good quality cheap jewellery, nothing under 18ct gold.

Mind you, by the time you stick your air fares on, Dubai may not be quite so cheap! Joking aside, my friend visits Dubai often and always brings home some jewellery - good quality gold and beautiful, unusual designs. I think you may be able to get 14 carat gold in N.C. ???

Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham is a good place for some excellent deals at the moment.

You can strike a good bargain if you approach the owners in the correct manner

hi fredred i think you can only get 14cwt gold here in the trnc, if you want quality try italian websites for 18 cwt, bit late now, but as turbo quite rightly states birmingham jewellery quarter is second to none, good luck and happy xmas, im sure she will love any present xx

hi fred

i always buy here in cyprus.

(take it from a girl who knows how to shop.lol.)

prices are not cheaper than the uk but you will get 14ct or 22ct instead of 9ct, for your money.

prices are based on weight.

i usually go to erdinc in girne. they have a good range and also will give good discount.

they also sell some of the zen diamonds there as well.

diamonds here are more expensive than the uk and quality is not to good though.

they also take plastic!

(just in case the wife goes for the big one!)

only problem i see with buying over here is that there are no prices on any of the items, so how you work out what a "good price" is, eludes me...

Hi fredred you can get really good 14 and 18 carat gold pieces in TRNC . I have bought a few pieces and they are sold by weight and with a little bit of haggling you can get the price down. All the bits I have bought have been from various jewellers in Girne.
