This is from Larnaca but it was just as bad in Famagusta.

There are many black clouds in the TRNC! but least of all to worry about are the weather clouds!

The sun will no doubt shine soon

Turtle,

I always give in to reason but never to pressure. We decided that it was time to close the thread because those who had anything to say had their say. C44 is supposed to be a forum for discussion but not for bullying. Once the thread was closed, the rest was done to enforce that decision. As simple as that.

I dont want to hijack your thread or give you a hard time however look at my posts on those threads in fact look at most peoples comments there were no bullying or witch-hunting.

Why can't you just ban the bullies and leave the thread open, time after time admin close things because they dont like them thats just wrong.

Still no answers on the CH issue so perhaps you could enlighten us,... now that is reason but no pressure.

Elko,

Is this the worst weather the TRNC has had at this time of year?

Only been here 3 winters but this seems to have dragged on the most??

I have given up on looking at weather forecasts and statistics as weather patterns seem to constantly vary in localised areas. Having aggregated more than 12 winters in Cyprus this is the first winter that I have slept wearing any clothing and I also now use an electric blanket to warm a high tog rated duvet before going to bed. I wish I could wear your boots too ! This cold and dampness penetrates double brick cavity filled walls, double glazing, radiator central heating, and a log burner. Roll on the Forum picnic in April when I hope there will be a raffle/auction for the benefit of Ismail.

All I can say is that it is not over yet. Usually we have a very cold short period before the end of March each year. After that it gets warmer and warmer.

In fact we have a saying in Turkish: Mart kapıdan baktırır, kazma kürek yaktırır.

March makes you look through the door and force you to burn pickaxes and shovels.

In Dutch: "Maart roert zijn staart..." ("March stirs its tail...", says Google. Hmm. "March has a sting in its tail" seems better!)
