Here's a preview of the draft of page 3 of the first issue of the "Medieval Cyprus eMagazine". The complete first (free) "MC eMag" will be available to download tomorrow around noon (I estimate).

If you have a problem seeing or reading the page below - please let me know. There has been a lot of testing off line, but publishing/delivering an eMag to your computer or tablet is a complicated process. I'd better apologise here and now for any problems that may occur...

Check page 3 here (shortened URL*): ▶ [ http://is.gd/mbK29d ].

* The first "MC eMag" will be hosted on my server in Holland, in my web site "All About All Crusades". The shortened URL gives me some basic statistics (it shows me how many people watch the page and in which countries they do that. Nothing more and nothing less.).

The "MC eMag" is designed in Apple's Pages software and then exported in pdf format, which means the file can be opened on all platforms (PC and Mac) - all you need is the free Adobe's Acrobat Reader. This software is present at most computers. If you don't have the software: you can download the Reader from Adobe's website http://www.adobe.com .

If you don't want to read the "MC eMag" on line you can choose to download the file (and keep it if you wish) for off line reading on your computer or tablet.

From previous years I know that several C44 readers and others liked the photo quizzes I uploaded. So we've chosen to publish one in every monthly magazine... Here's the first one (very difficult!) and you'll find the solution in tomorrow's first "MC eMag".

Check the Photo Quiz (Find the TEN differences...):

P.S. Thank you for the kind wishes!

Last tests now done..!

I've tested two files in eight web browsers (the "MC eMag" to read on line and the "MC eMag" to download to read off line on computer and/or tablet). I noted error free results in Google's Chrome and Apple's Safari, although other browsers - if not obsolete or outdated - may give good results also.

@ msg 11, Redwine: (...) You need to justify text, will neaten it up and better quality photgraphs (...)

▶ Thank you for your remarks, Redwine.

Text: Justifying text was a choice - but we have chosen to align text from the left.

Photographs: some pictures cannot be taken again and one has to use what is available.

Quality of photographs: all pics and maps are optimised for fast downloading. Using hi-res pics would make the eMag at least ten times slower to download - most people won't wait that long. The eMag is now only 5.6 Mb.

Thanks for your offer re: pics: next week or so I'd like to contact you off board but you have no email address in your profile. Please mail me at mcf.trnc@gmail.com . Thanks!
