Does anyone know the opening hours of the Tax Office in Girne, to do Road Tax, also the garage which does the MOT

Sams Garage at Alzancak and Erdeners at Karakum do MOTS or you can go to the Police one at Lefkoşa. The Tax office in Girne opens at 0800 or should.

Not exactly sure but it closes 12:30 - 13:45 for lunch. I think it opens at 08:00.



MOT Centre directions:



From the Lefkosa roundabout, head West towards Lapta, turn left into road immediately after Mercedes garage and before Starlings supermarket. About 20 metres up that road you will see Italiano on left and there is a 'Polis M.....' sign pointing you into the road on the right, go along that road for about 10 metres and testing centre is on left - you will see the police cars in there.

Just read Rockers reply, I didn't realise that you could get the MOTs done at anywhere other than the Police Centres. Don't forget to go to tax office first to pay (was 100ytl in Sept) and then take the receipt to the testing centre with you.

I was told they only do MOT at the garage behind police station, I have to go to the tax office to pay first, thats all I know

Just went for a dummy run, and thanks to your directions I found the MOT garage, so thanks for that, I just looked at my mud flaps and I'm not happy they are a bit split, so I scared they will fail them, do you or anyone know where they will fit a new set cheap, as I'm going back to the UK early Wednesday morning so I have to do it all tomorrow.

As far as I am aware it is only the police that do MOT.



You need to have a current emission test which is done at a garage to take with you when you retax vehicle or to be presented if requested by a police officer.
