Based on the legendary true story of the Red Dog who united a disparate local community while roaming the Australian outback in search of his long lost master.

Great film, watched it a couple of months ago....very sad.

I remember an old film I watched as a youngster....Old Yellow (or Yeller maybe) about a faithful dog... bawled my eyes out.

Thank you for the recommendation. I will definitely watch it. Another good one based on a true story is Hachiko if you haven't watched it. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1028532/

There is a statue in memory of hachiko at the train station in Japan (where the true story originated). I would love to see the film.

Yes BoTanica and I heard of the story of Hachiko on a TV program. I was crying my eyes out and couldn't watch the last 1-2 mins of the film.

My Kids used to watch it.

I think it used to be on TV on a Sunday morning. The dog 'London' used to go from place to place making a difference to other people. He'd find a nice family, help them out and then take off again.

I used to think..stupid thing, why dont you stay put. Daft eh!

When I saw this thread I downloaded Red Dog which came down in record time around an hour. Just finished watching it, cried my eyes out. Anyone have some spare tissues please?

I also watched Marley & Me about a year ago. I'm not sure if it's based on a true story but couldn't watch it till the end as I was crying so much. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0822832/

I've just downloaded Red Dog and will be watching it this weekend.

Apologies for what to some might be a 'dull' question, but I have never seen or used the imdb site shown in these threads. Do you download a film direct from the site and what are the costs please?

You can download most films from:

http://isohunt.com/latest.php?mode=bt

You will first need to download "Bit Torrent" (just search it on Google).

The first thing you need to do before accessing such sites is get your Antivirus programme up to date and keep it well maintained!

The original faithful dog story, 'Greyfriars Bobby' I didn't think Gordon Jackson was ever that young! LOL
