as the average cy44 member is shivering their socks off inside their "concrete tent" - maybe this would be a good time to discuss the shoddy construction quality of villas / apartments in the trnc...



and why are they are as hot as hell inside during july / aug ?



maybe the builders thought it really was the"year round island" - or maybe they were confusing it with Phuket ?

Err, well ours is double glazed, fully damp corsed etc etc. Heats up nicely in winter and stays cool in the summer when the windows are open to allow a breeze through (or of course air con). Went to Phuket last year - it was ok - wouldn't be that keen on it though, and would definitely prefer Cyprus. Found it very scrappy and untidy (couple of nice beaches though) and if you want to see real animal cruelty, go visit the elephant safari where the babies are chained up and the adults forced to trek with an endless stream of tourists on their backs - oh and their Thai 'keepers' kept them in line with handy metal picks, quick smack across the head - nice !! Still each to their own, plenty of Girls of the night and ladyboys if you are into that sort of thing though......

John ! why do you care ? yes it is cold at mo but ! My house is warm in the winter nn, it has a wood burner and we collect the wood from the beach for free. We open the windows in the summer and the house stays cool with the breeze from the sea, for free. Oh! and we do have the odd mosquito but we don't sure as hell have the bugs you get in Thailand.

Sorry NN, but I find the title of the thread" Construction Quality -TRNC" in itself somewhat misleading ..
