Hi honeybun

I looked everywhere here and in the south and in the end had to get my friend to bring some out from the UK.

Bring mine from the UK also. Spent 2 years looking for it here. Don't do it now, some things I have just had to give up.

I used to get mine from health food shops in the UK - so I would suggest that you look in the 'Holland & Barrett' which is on the left after you walk across the Green Line crossing on Ledra Street. If they don't have any, they may be able to point you in the right direction, I've found them to be very helpful. Of course, if you know of any health food shops on this side, they would be a good bet as well.

Honeybun I make a really moist malt loaf without using malt extract & it's so easy - here is the recipe:

1 mug all bran

1 mug sugar

1 mug sultanans

1 mug milk

stir together cover with cling film and leave overnight

mix in 1 mug self raising flour

line 1 large or 2 small loaf tins put mixture in on fan oven 150 for an hour and a half press top if springy but firm tale out and leave to rest then remove from tin.

you can freeze or eat straightaway once cool. Lizzie

Soaking half a pound of mixed fruit, 1cup of soft brown sugar, in 1 cup of cold tea overnight does the trick, then add 2 cups of self raising flour + 1egg the next day and bake for one and a half hours at 325 degrees. I have used this recipe for 54 years and never used malt extract. Enjoy.

1/2 cup sugar - preferable brown

Goody, lovely recipes here, many thanks for them, will now buy a cartridge for my printer so I can save them, not clever enough to save on here. I am such a technophobe!
