Just finished a lovely phone call from Patch's family. She is settling very well and they are delighted to have her with them at last. Patch is eating well and seems to have taken to family life like a duck to water ! She loves her new soft bed in the warm - but in true Cypriot style as soon as the sun comes out she makes her way outside to make the most of the fresh air !

While out on a regular walk through the forest she saw her first horse and rider but she was perfectly behaved - she was interested but didn't pester them or bark - just sniffed and sniffed with her ears very pricked ! She must have thought it a very strange UK Donkey !

She is off to the Beauty salon next week for a trim and blowdry - more photos are promised later showing off her new hairstyle.

Happy days for Patch - she deserves it.

So pleased for Patch and his new family. A totally new life away from busy roads, he looks all cosy in his new bed!

Thanks for the update, does anyone have an idea as to the(average) cost of shipping a dog to the UK using this new system?

martinD41 - it can vary on each trip. This is because the whole of the costs are shared amongst all of the owners using the service - so it can work out less if there are dogs or cats coming on the inbound journey (UK to TRNC). I know KAR are in the process of finalising their 2nd trip (in April) - at the moment they are only able to offer an approximate "guesstimate" of approx £600 per animal - BUT it is only a "guesstimate" - the owners will be advised of the final costs a few weeks before the trip leaves. If anyone wants any more info, about these trips and/or possible flight alternatives, then they can contact KAR on 0533 8694098

Hope this helps a little !

msg 17 - 15 dogs travelled on the first KAR trip along with 3 couriers. I am not sure if that is the maximum number they can actually carry but it is the maximum that KAR book onto each trip. I believ that they have larger/smaller vehicles which may alter the maximum numbers - why not check their website http://www.animalcouriers.com
