This year Womens Health Week (month) will be from Monday the 12th of March.

After talks with the management this morning they have agreed to freeze the prices for this year again, so we are still getting the tests at 2009 prices.

Once again the tests will be carried out at Cyprus Life Hospital in Lefkosa. For people that are new here I do not use the Girne clinics as they don't have all the equipement, labs etc on site.

If you want to book your appointment as usual e-mail me on trnchealthcare@gmail.com or telephone me on 0533 884 5621 with your full name, date of birth and a contact telephone number.

Hi Chris, any idea if it will just be for the week or will it continue on after that? I suppose it wil depend on numbers attending? I have a friend coming out from UK who wants checks but wouldn't be able to attend until the 26th, do you think that will be too late for the discounted offer?

Hi Last year I had the full checks - including full bloods, ovarian cancer check/ultra sound etc. Will you be doing these this year and if so will they be available later in the year?

Not sure about that as it takes up a lot of my time to organize. That is why i try to keep it to March every year.

Chris, My wife had these cancer tests last year, how often do you recommend they are repeated?

I am not sure I understand your answer to Judy re the "Full Tests" (Heart, eyes etc etc). Are they going to be available again?

Thanks

yenibob,

Regarding Judy's post I took it she was talking about the cancer checks and not the full 'MOT' apologies Judy if I read it wrong and if it is the full MOT check I can arrange that easily all year round.

Regarding your wife if her Mammogram was okay then every 2nd year, if it threw up some doubt then every year.

Cervical smears should be done every year unless the ladies have had a full hysterectomy with removal of cervix, and in the case they don't need to have one at all.

Hi , I did have the full MOT last year and thank you for arranging it and to the staff at the 5 star hotel/hospital. I just wondered if or what I should have every year or whether I could wait until later in the year so as not to have too much radiation etc. from X rays. Still unhappy about that aspect with renewing residency ......

I had a few tests done last year and was very impressed with the entire service. Was dreading the mammogram but it was only slight discomfort for a few seconds so well worth it. My sister in law has just had to have mastectomy and tons of post op chemo/drugs etc in the UK but she is still with us thanks to early detection.

Thanks Chris for all the work you put in every year on this.

Being overweight can cause a lot of health risks:

- Diebetes

- Heart problems

- Blood Pressure problems

Sometimes we need to deal with the source of the problem to get to the problem and this EATING plan works to cope with all of these and reduce weight and risks to health.

Come along to the TRNC Slimmers World group and learn how to EAT.

EAT the right foods

EAT often

EAT no diet

EAT foods that you know will add to your health goals

3 members of the group have lost 1 STONE 6 LBS since 7th January 2012

You are welcome to come along and sit through the sessions BEFORE you decide to join.

Several members (myself included) have underactive thyroid - learn how to deal with this and STILL lose weight.

Very interesting message 23 but not sure what this has to do with the ladies having mammograms, smears etc.

A lot of good advise and I wish you well.

Hi Chris,

I had the full checks last March/April and nothing was found thankfully, other than high cholesterol so wondered if it would be fine to leave the checks or is it best to have them each year?

Thanks

judyr,

Cervical smears should be every year, nobody likes getting them done so often we neglect to have them done. It is really up to you but I would recommend them yearly.

Mammograms every 2 years if the last one was clear.

Can I now suggest that all ladies book a consultation with one of the Doctors after they have their tests, this way their results are properly interpreted and if there is a problem it can be dealt with straight away.
