Thank you Paul for the link.

It appears that at least a target is to be prepared.

That is a positive step and both leaders must keep the ball rolling.

When is round 14?

I do hope that the less positive members on the Forum will join me and support this positive movement

I think there has been a few positive movements just lately, unfortunately mostly in the toilets rather than round the table, but thats just the cynic in me thinking they are full of sh*t,i hope i will be proved wrong, but i have my doubts.

I really do sincerely hope that this peace initiative is productive and the island of Cyprus can move into 2009 positively. There is something in the back of my mind however telling me that away from the stage the final curtain was decided some time ago away from the audience by the main players.

msg 8 and 9.

May well be the case. That deal is already on paper.

If so I would hope that the penciled out settlement is fair and just to all parties and that the Island can move forward and prosper.

Would anyone care to predict what the "terms" of a settlement might be?

Who could define when sufficient common ground had been reached? Is it with 90% agreement? 100%?

i.e. Is it all or nothing as far as one, the other or both are concerned?

You all seem to forget that Christians andMoslems have been at each other for a thousand years and it could be another thousand years before they come together, if ever....

I don,t think they are any closer to an aggrement and Turkeys entry into the EU will be blocked (By Germany and possibly France).

So still in limbo.

I thought blimey, something must have shifted in the talks, as I have never heard Hasan Ercakica, the Presidential spokeman speak positively about the negotiations http://www.brtk.cc/index.php/lang/en/cat/2/news/43670 . I wish he would change his photo. I am sure he doesn't always look this dour..............

then back to some normality with President Talats latest statements. Not sure how long or how vociferously he asked for the border to opened http://www.brtk.cc/index.php/lang/en/cat/2/news/43731 ...........

I can appreciate what the martyr week represents, and what it means to people, but not sure if it is the right way to bury the past. In fact, I know it isn't. http://www.brtk.cc/index.php/lang/en/cat/2/news/43702

ilc msg 19,

I agree with your final point and would add the Turkish army mouthpiece should put a sock in it and confine himself to barracks. When you're occupying someone else's country illegally you should butt out of your unwilling hosts' peace talks.
