I just want to warn people to be a bit more vigilant, I for one have become quite complacent living here, but unfortunately I will have to change my attitude. Last night / or early hours of this morning we had a green Trek bike taken from right outside our front door (in Ozankoy), it was already dismantled as we transport it in the car. Probably stupid of us to leave it outside in the first place, as easy pickings as they say, but as I said earlier I have become complacent! Unfortunately it is not covered under our insurance, another mistake, as I should have itemised it on the policy since it was a very expensive bike!

Hi Ttoli, the make is a Trek bike and it is green, 21 gears, was a good bike! (350 euros worth of good bike in fact!).

You have to be careful leaving anything out in front of your house, we had a large collapsable dog cage taken.. There are vans that drive around looking for things that are left out/dumped and take them on the presumtion that they thought you left them out for taking.

Yes this may be your mistake.

If you put or leave something outside your house boundries then people may think you don't want it anymore and help themselves, they don't ask they will just take.

We put two old sunbeds out for collection, then saw a neighbour sitting on them under his tree. We didn't mind but neither did he ask if it was ok to take them .

Hirsizin Hiç Mi Suçu Yok ?

Bir gün Nasreddin Hoca’nin esegi çalinmis. Can sikintisi içinde durumu komsularina anlatinca her kafadan bir ses çikmaya baslamis.

Birisi :

Hodja's donkey were stolen. With worry,he starts telling his neighbours...

one of the neighbour......Hodja,why didnt you make sure it had a good lock on it?

other said.........how come you don't know when there is a thief in your house?...

another said.....don't take this the wrong way Hodja but the stable is falling apart, you should blame yourself for this.........

Hodja has heard enough by now and turn round and said

the bin men had been early hours, but I checked with our Belidiye and the drivers apparently saw none of his men taking a bike. They had actually tried to take it before about a year ago, my husband just got back from a bike ride and left it by the gates and just in the nick of time caught the binmen about to take it! It wasn't anywhere near the dustbins! But, hey ho, you can't point a finger!
