Any ideas where I can buy one, other than UK? Tumbler type is best.

You can easily make a very efficient stone polishing machine. Simply get a metal stand welded up with a hoop and an axle - using an old worn out [costing nothing!] car tyre you mount this on the stand - obviously you need to support the tyre with a metal frame inside or out side the tyre and turning by running on the axle of the hoop.

Using a car wiper motor fastened to the metal stand and a chain and a coupla sprockets, or an old fan belt and a coupla pulleys to turn the tyre slowly - turning fast is no good for polishing stones. You then fill the tyre with stones and water - you can add some sand for certain types of stones, but generally the turning action of the tyre will cause the stones to 'self abrade' and polish themselves.

In New Zealand, I made one of these machines for polishing stones for our aquarium club - it worked 'like a bought one'!!!

Good luck!
