Has anyone else noticed the forecast on Accuweather for Wednesday in Girne?

"Winds gusting past 80 kph; times of clouds and sun. Winds from the W at 43 km/h."

Batten down the hatches folks! What are the odds on the power staying on?

On a happier note, how wonderful to see so much rain SOAKING in!

The power is fine in Bogaz, but my garden took a battering last night.

Nope, Joanjelly, I'm on the same grid as you, so we've been mostly off for the last two days! But........ I do have a generator - which has been in full use during the day when the power's off

High winds in Esentepe at the moment.

Ferries' have been cancelled as well.

"The Girne Ports Authority announced that strong gale winds creating waves up to 2-3 meters high as well as poor visibility have caused services between Girne and Tasucu to be cancelled."

Hope no one's popped over to the mainland to do some Xmas shopping :-(

Also...

The price of a gas cylinder has been decreased to 22 New Turkish Liras.

According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Finance the 10 kilograms of gas cylinder will be sold from its new price as from today.

Our pool cover turned into a parachute this morning, it's now weighed down with ladders! It's very gusty now with light rain in Esentepe.
