Dr Yonca Morris is a rheumatologist in Lefkosa. Her mobile number is....0392 816 1093. She is a very nice lady and her English is excellent.

I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2008 and I went to see her. The directions are relatively easy. At the 'soldier' roundabout turn right and carry on to the lights. Turn left at the lights and carry on until you see a pink building on your left. That is where Dr Morris practises from.

As temporary relief, you might try "ENDOL " tablets, they are only about 3TL and ask your pharmacist if they would be ok for you to take.

They are a joint/muscle pain reliever.

I went to NE Uni hospital and saw a Rhematologist. You have to make an appointment as he comes over from Turkey. I think it was about 80TL to see him, that seems to be about the norm to see a Consultant.

I suffer from psoriatic arthritis and have done for years. It is extremely painful, but I do not take medication other than multivitamins and cod liver oil tablets. What I have done in the last two years to relieve the pain is to loose weight, and I try to keep active. It has helped me dramatically. I had to shed 25 kilos to do it. I do not see doctors other than my medical friends!

louthlass.....I, like you, do not take any medication and I actually do not have rheumatoid arthritis anymore because I exercise 3 times a week, I take cider vinegar 3 times a day and also 1 zinc tablet every day. The reason all of this has worked for me is that rheumatoid arthritis HATES exercise so by regularly exercising this eliminates the pain and stiffness, the disease is an auto immune disease and therefore the zinc boosts the immune system. The cider vinegar dissolves the build up of crystals around the joints that cause the stiffness and pain.

Meats [except chicken] and all processed foods including 'old meats' i.e. pates, sausages, bacon etc etc are very bad for arthritis and so I eliminated these from my diet. I have been healthy and painfree for 3 years now.

Dr Morris did say to me that there are far too many people in Cyprus with arthritis and this is possibly due to Cypriots now eating a more western diet than in the past.

Dr Yonga Morris is really lovely. I am under her for a rare blood disorder and she is very caring and knows her stuff. Would not go anywhere else. She does get very busy and works from the surgery in the afternoons as she is at the hospital in the mornings. Telephone and make an appointment. Hope you feel better soon. Sandra x
