Went there last visit, deserted then, but it looks good now, beautiful views when looking down from the top,...

Restaurant looks to be finished now.... Long drive to there but well worth the effort ...

Thank you Redwine can't wait to come (3 weeks time !) to see the spring flowers.

By the way, I remember that Roman tomb being opened up. It must be about 23 years ago. It was apparently found by accident when a charcoal maker was looking for rocks to make his cairn. He lifted up this large rock and the ground fell in revealing part of the entrance. I am told there were about 150 skeletons inside. Akdeniz, of course is a very ancient site going back at least 8000 years. It is where, in 1928, the Swedish Expedition to Cyprus excavated a silted up sanctuary which had apparently been abandoned after a flash flood. They dug up several thousand terracotta statues ranging from small to larger than lifesize. They are in the Nicosia museum and in the Meiterranean Museum in Stockholm. These statues date from the first millenium BC.

Thanks for your comments. Now the weather has piked up we are always out and about. I will shortly be putting up pic on way to Karpaz. If anyone wants a particular area will oblige by going there for pic and video.

If you have any news relating to Esentepe area send to us and we will publish on the web.
