With three million snapped up in its first four days on sale, the new iPad is the hottest gadget around.

For some customers, however, that’s been a big problem.

An influential U.S. consumer watchdog is investigating online reports that Apple’s tablet computer generates too much heat.

A real bonus on these cold nights though, all cuddled up around an expensive gadget keeping warm. We can always go back to Laptops in the summer

If the outside of the tablet warms up to 5 degrees higher than the ambient, it must get pretty hot inside. How does that affect the life expectancy of the product?

Who cares? It only has to last until the Ipad4 comes along and then all the Appleheads will be queuing up for that. Personally, I think it's pathetic.

Apple thought it had the new iPad overheating issue under control with Tuesday's statement, but new tests have clocked the device running way above its thermal specifications of 32-95°F at a staggering 116°F That’s just over 46°C! Is that humble pie I smell from the Apple camp or is it the new iPads cooking?
