I have just had four implants, plus bridges and 5 caps, done by Temilci near to Zeytinlik. He was excellent and I have been very pleased with the result and the cost which was 13,700 tl in total, and includes annual check ups at no extra cost. Quite a number of people have suggested going to Turkey as it is cheaper, but I don't see how this can work. Implants take several months work. I have had around 25 appointments up until now, fine tuning etc. Also you have to wait for the implants to meld with the jaw bone. This being the case, I don't think, unless you have a permanent or semi permanent base in Turkey, that option would work.

It would be great if someone who has had implants in turkey could comment how it works ie many visits?

My husband has just had implants completed in England. You should be aware that its a long process taking about 6 months from beginning to end. It needs about 6 visits to the dentist, although you could probably get away with a minimum of three if all goes well. However the overall message is that implants shound not be rushed. The bone needs time to regrow around the new root.

So if you are thinking about having it done in Turkey or anywhere else abroad, please bear this in mind. Its an expensive process, but well worth it when its finished.

Enchanted is quite right. Which is why my OH had her's done at the NEU, Nicosia. Took 6 months altogether from start to finih, and a total of 18 trips drive over there!

But well worth it in the end Geoff. I am sure that your wife is very happy with the result, as am I with mine. Much better option than a plate.........but it does take time, which is why I don't understand the recommendations to go to Turkey. My work started at the beginning of December and I am now awaiting my final visit. And, I have to say, as always, you get what you pay for IMHO.

Well, I have had a combination of implants, bridges and caps, so more visits required, but even with just implants it would have needed more than 2 visits, which would be excellent I think. Timescale is 2 to 3 mnths for the implant to form with the jawbone. My dentist used an instrument to check whether they were ready, and from that could tell he needed to leave it just a few more days, so extra visits there. Fine tuning of the teeth to make sure that the bite is correct also meant extra visits. I also had to go back to have stitches removed when I first had the surgery. Also, consider the annual check-ups. But, the end result for me has been fantastic and worth every lira! If you can afford to do it, do not even consider dentures.
