Apple's new iPad might have a state-of-the-art HD screen but the tech giant seems to have forgotten something - the web connection.

Users on Apple's forums have reported that the new gadget has trouble picking up and holding on to wi-fi signals.

A thread on Apple's official forums has 144 posts from angry users, and has been read by 5,000 people.

Not so long ago, hard and software manufacturers issued their products, sometimes free into the retail community for beta testing where all these teething problems were identified and ironed out before the products were released as tried and tested, the beta testers today are the die-hard fans investing in the first releases providing their feedback via the media and support forums. Microsoft are equally as guilty of this practice, never invest in anything related to computing, unless it’s done the rounds and been debugged by the fashionistas for at least 6 Months.

Yes keep away from the new ipad for a few months until they've done a few software updates.

Also, ipad 1's and 2's will be going cheaper.

I pad 2 has fantastic connection in TRNC including mountain stays in mountain areas no probs whats so ever for me
