Tickets for the 112 Ball on April 19th at The Rocks Hotel are selling fast and we need to make this a bumper year to keep supplying vital equipment to Girne Hospital and the other emergency services. It's a great quintessentially British night to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's 86th birthday in her Diamond Jubilee Year. A delicious four course meal and all drinks (not local) plus a great night's entertainment are included in the ticket price of 105TL. The famous 112 tombola with over 100 prizes will be there and it's a great chance to dress up and dance the night away. Tickets are available from Lambousa market or by calling 0533 840 7834. Please support the one charity that can affect the lives of everyone - over 70,000 TL's worth of equipment has been bought in the last three years - and remember - THE EQUIPMENT YOU HELP TO BUY TODAY COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE TOMORROW!

Just a thought;

But it the government hadn't seen fit to buy a new fleet of ministers cars at €575,000 this money could actually have been spent on something worthwhile.

Absolutely but it's the same the world over - British M.P's expenses spring to mind with NHS waiting lists getting longer and longer!

message 5. Hope the night is a real success and you get to raise enough money to cover the equipment that is needed. Its a shame that such vital equipment has to come from fund raising. Perhaps if they collected all the taxes owed from builders and buyers by introducing more robust property conveyancing laws, it could be diverted to this noble cause? But then again we have a Government that won't even pay its own Kibtec bill so its hardly going to worry about health care issues?

Message 4. You are absolutely right and the example of British MP's expenses, in response to your statement is a poor one. The British Public supported by the media and pressure groups won a real victory by not only exposing this but also creating a more transparent system. I can now easily seek out information on my MP's expenses. The guilty parties were also exposed and made to pay back all the money they had been fraudulently paid. Some received prison sentences.

Time for change in the TRNC?
