You may not know that the festive season is Stressful Time of the Year and many family rows, arguments and fall outs occur over the silliest of things so I shall refrase the question.
Is it better to keep having a dig or have an all out row and clear the air ?
Just why people take umbridge at the drop of a hat baffels me. |

I now do think you are being silly as you never stated any of the above reasons at the time of the original post and I note no one has made any comments on the stresses of life at Christmas. Are we mind readers
My advice is to take a step back and talk to one an other on concerns etc and to have tolerance. constant all out rows are for people that are not in touch with one and other. Better of apart. (my opinion)
So pick up your hat and and forget about the umbridge.
