I think this forum is getting too personal.

I appologise for my posts last night. I was out of order.

But whilst reading through the various posts, I was upset by so many personal attacks in the threads. When I saw the attack on Cooper. Someone calling him a wa*nker. It really got my back up.

I have also noticed that many of the old school are not posting as much as they did. Also there seems to be a lot of personal stuff going on with moderators and Regular posters.

The board is being run poorly. I think the heavy handed and condescending moderators are just winding up even the most compulsive posters. Leading to fighting between members due to frustration.

I for one would hate to think we would be missing the contributions from members such as



punktilth. Too many positive and supportive members have walked away. Let us hope that



the situation can be reversed, before it is too late.

I agree stewy, i stuck up for coop and got my postings deleted, I have to admit, i am guilt of adding a little venom in my posting also, we all fall for it sooner or later.

A certain attacker was out of line.

At least one Moderator notified me via, my previous postings and apolized for doing so.

I will be the first to admit when I have crossed that line, at least i know when its crossed and take care of it.

Can I apologise to members as when I was moderating the thread which had some very personal remarks on it I appear to have inadvertently made the whole thread inaccessible thus people couldn't see the supportive posts that many people made including Turbo.



I did moderate one of Turbos post but only because he had copied an pasted one of the remarks I had already moderated whilst showing his displeasure with it.



My only regret was that I wasn't around when the posts were made so that they stayed up for too long.



I wish everyone a happy new year and urge all to keep posting.

The thread that was started that caused all the trouble was Guido's Rumour. I cannot understand anyone wanted to cause upset and distress to Lilli who is a hardworking and sensitive lady, and is just trying to make a living in NC. That thread was followed by another thread entitled "Leave Lilli alone" and many posters shared the view that it was inappropriate. However certain posters jumped onto the bandwagon when I objected to the two threads. Lilli has already expressed on this BB that she is upset by such comments, but it would appear that "some" wanted to turn the knife even more. The thread degenerated into a slanging match with a minority involved, and their venom was aimed at me. I tried to be polite in my responses, but even I fell into the trap during ONE message of moderation. Having reviewed my responses to the most nasty of comments aimed at me, I consider them to be somewhat jovial and polite given the circumstances.

Personal threads ie threads about a fellow member should be immediately deleted, as it should be clear that the instigator of such threads is up to no good and has an axe to grind.

K. My final response.

The thread in question was started by Cooper. The next post was by yourself calling him a w**ker. The post was innofensive by Cooper. No comments, just a you tube of the opening sequence of the Programme open all hours.



It was funny.



If you are posting about attackers. Please look at yourself first. You attack with venom and your language is not pleasant.



My new years resolution is to stop my occasional four letter word. I will also not get wound up when the more stupid members get off their tree.

Stewy. I DID NOT call Cooper any name, least of all the one you have recited here. In your opinion, "The post was innofensive by Cooper". In my opinion, it was just another "pop" at Lilli for no reason at all. You may have found it funny. I did not. It was wholly inappropriate, inexcusable, when this lady has already said she is distressed at the negativiity towards her. I really do not think it is acceptable for threads to be started by anyone, about another member, whether in jest or otherwise. Maybe, this should be another rule?



As for your comments about my comments. If you attack me, I will respond. I tried to be as polite as possible to the venomous scathing attack in tandem with your fellow attacker the other night. Do not attack me again. If you do, I will report it. OK?

She felt this may have been started by another restauranteur. People then starting posting that it was an advertising ploy on her behalf. I suggested that someone should start a thread "LETS LEAVE LILLI ALONE", stating that the lady was only trying to make a living and rumours such as this were very harmful. Cooper then posted the u-tube clip, purely in jest, I felt. I certainly have never found Cooper to be rude or offensive - quite the opposite, in fact. There was a big response to my post with a lot of support for Lilli and agreeing that, yes, people should leave her alone. Jean

then you enter the frame and make offensive remarks about what ive been upto during xmas and then go on to tell me to go and shove my hat where the sun dont shine.if thats not offensive i dont know what is ! you then continue to abuse another member, message numbers 16,20,25,26,and 28 so if thats you trying to be polite as you have stated in post 22 above i would hate to catch you on a bad day !

Hi Jean, yes you are probably right. Prior to my recent postings I had not been on the BB since 16/12 so certainly had not read Lilli's concerns. I read yours stating someone should start a thread "LETS LEAVE LILLI ALONE", the sentiments of which I thoroughly agree with. I may have then misinterpreted the reasons for Cooper's posting. If that is the case, I will apologise to Cooper. I certainly thought it strange that Cooper, in isolation should have posted such a thing as like you, I have never found Cooper to be rude or offensive. What I didn't like were "others" jumping on the bandwagon with their venom, when it was quite unnecessary. This is part of the reason I absented myself from the BB for a couple of weeks.



I agree with you wholeheartedly that people need to leave Lilli alone.

I just wish the management would add the additional rule - no threads about members. This would in my view make it clear - zero tolerance. I may make the BB a nicer place?

I have looked at the thread you have posted, and out of 8 message that evening from me, not one was moderated. Yet 3 by the attackers which contained disgusting comments were moderated. I would say my responses to their personal attacks were moderate, jovial and polite.

Unfortunately as all those posts are moderated, and the content removed, it is difficult for anyone to see the scale of the attack, the vile comments made by the attackers, and therefore unless you actually read it at the time, you would not know the verocity of the attack. I think enough said.

Why are people constantly at each others throats? I have had to end at least 2 threads that have started off in good faith but have descended into nothing more than mud slinging. Brit expats at their best again.

I would suggest that everyone re-reads their posts before hitting the send button. If everyone moderated their own posts then we would not need moderators.

You seem a nice lady and I appologise for my remarks towards you.

The remarks were not personal towards yourself however.

The remarks would have been the same or similar to anyone making discusting remarks to a cherished member like Cooper. Who I might add Lilli is a fan of Lilli too.

If you jump in and make offensive remarks of a discusting nature, there is something severely wrong.

The remark about Cooper w**nking in his hat really got my back up.

Please put your house in order and stop yourself jumping in when you do not know the facts.
