I'd like to nominate the bloke on the "Cyprus the year round island" for a smack round the chops....

It's fecking freezing in my villa...

Whilst on the subject of smack round the chops, like to give one to the idiot agent who sold me my villa, telling me that we needed neither a fire place nor central heating, because:

"it doesn't get that cold here in the winter - but, if it gets a bit chilly, a quick blast of the air con on hot and you'll be ok"

thinking about it, forget the smack round the chops, i'd like to strangle the bu~~er.

Nick

And set to get colder the Hippo spots on the Ercan forecast windchill of -3 the new parafin heaters by all accounts are the biz.

Alternativley you could become a log merchant that should give you more than eneough dosh to fly south to warmer climes for the winter.

Sorry for all you very cold people. We visited in January a few years ago to look at property. Met a chap staying at the Riverside, on his first visit to NC. When I asked him why he had chosen to go in January, he said that the travel agent had told him it was a "all year round" resort, wall to wall sunshine, etc. He seemed a bit surprised that it was cold, wet and raining and the bar had a huge roaring fire going.

Nick it might be a blessing in disguise that you haven't got a fireplace. Do yourself a favour and get a log burner. There's nothing quite like a huge hunk of cast iron for warming a room. Don't mess about though, make sure you get the biggest one you can find. We had to knock our fireplace down to accommodate our burner so you're one step ahead already.
