Has any one heard anything from dear old GROUCHO ...No posts now for several days..Getting a bit concerned,hasnt emigrated or something of that nature.Maybe having a sabatical eh!!!

Jean ..when did this happen with Groucho..I think some body ought to put there head back on in the right position and rectify this ludicrous decision to moderate him off the board. If there decision was based on something he has said then they had better look at things numerous others say,but then again maybe they may realise they would certainly have a greatly slimmed down membership if they were to that..

I think maybe Groucho has edited his name in his profile to give out the message that he feels he has been moderated off the board. That's how I read it anyway.

Hi Coachie . Groucho has posted on nige's board that he stopped posting on 44 ,because and only because , the moderators have gone looney tunes { his words not mine } He did say a lot more but you would have to read it for yourselves . But then a lot of people on this forum already knew this , as they post there as well .But what moderated off board means , i don't know either

Moderators have a responsibility to ensure no one member feels intimidated or uncomfortable posting on the board. If a member posts inappropriately, in the public domain, they should be warned about it, in the public domain. I have been a member of to many boards connecting N Cyprus threads. I have seen some good boards ruined. Teresa moderated a great board perfectly and it all went to rat sh*t. I blame Ismet for that downfall of that good site because of his style of moderating. It was arrogant and dictatorial.



The rot is setting in Moderators be warned, address you style, be open and clear when members need admonishing, point out inappropriate behaviour, give warnings and ticking’s off. Don’t be just God like or you will ruin yet another great board.



Members that fall foul of the moderators being fair and open take heed and all will remain cordial.

I can confirm that Groucho's absence is self imposed. A lot of his posts were amended/deleted by moderators to make them nonsensical (ok you may have thought they were that without moderation lol). As said before, he is now posting on Nigel's board.

Self imposed absence maybe, in my opinion constructive absence. If I felt my postings were doctored, I too would leave. Following my previous posting, I refered to the rules of the board. I did not need to read the rules prior to joining as my behaviour would suit any board. I dont believe in being rude or aggresive. Having now read the rules I think the moderators should take a long hard look at the way they are written. Dictatorial!!!

several weeks ago we had a need for (moderators ) on this forum,due to the

verbal abuse,that some posters were getting. now we are infighting amongst

ourself,s (I.E posters,@ moderators.)this did not happen, untill new moderators

were installed to the forum.now it would appear that if you have an opinion or point to make,that contradict,s a moderators opinion it will be deleted or moderated.and now we have post,s stopped as they are deemed to have run there course.please IZZET lets have our forum back without the overbearing moderation that we now have.

I'm afraid like most pastimes / hobbies, familarity and repartition sometime breeds boredom and a break or change of activity or focus is the favoured solution. This scenario I'm sure affects this forum. However although we have lost some interesting members the growth in members also includes some able replacements.

Many posts off late proof that many members are not happy with the quality of the editing by sometimes narrow-minded, inexperienced "moderators/editors".

OK I am not the most popular of posters.

However I am fed up of being dictated to by the moderators.

If a job is worth doing, you may as well do it well. The moderators just seem to wind everyone up. This board went wrong as soon as so many people were given power. They seem to get off on this power trip. AJ in particular loves being arrogant and telling people off on every thread.

Too many cooks spoil the broth.

Education is a great thing. But the moderators here have no idea of what their job is.

So how on earth can they perform the task in hand?

Izzet. I am afraid you have zero management skils. Members are leaving by the droves. You have to be strong and thank the moderators for their help and let them return to just posting. I am sure it is business sense. There are many advertisers on you site who I am sure are not happy with the way things are turning out here. Less hits- less revinue.

Please can I suggest that if you have a problem with any of the moderators that you email Izzet direct with your concerns.

Having read the above posts (and others posted previously) I feel that it is unfair to tar all the moderators with the same brush...we are not all on a "power trip" or "sarcastic".



If you are unhappy with certain comments from moderators as I say email Izzet......he will make the decision based on complaints from the members.

Are you all trying to pea the moderators off. Because I suspect you are doing a reasonable job, if we all stop being nasty to each other, refrain from swearing & use the board for the purpose it was started, information, help & the odd bit of humor, then I'm sure the only time the moderators post is when they are joining in a thread. It can be done, as I post this, people are trying to help the family that were involved in a fire. Lets start 2009 in a positive way. I'll get off my high horse now.
