Why do good posters keep leaving or being forced to leave due to unfair moderation, we all know that 1 certain poster is an irritant and is desperate to become a moderator...he is arrogant, ignorant and a thoroughly unpleasant person but it would seem some on here haven't the brains to see through him, he is an avid poster, or was and is making an IMHO unwanted comeback.

Even a good moderator like AJ has felt the need to resign his post out of criticism from the lesser intelligent posters.

I know this will be either moderated or I will be banned but quite frankly I would rather that than have to suffer this man on here...I speak of course of the windbag WYN...a man who even if joking is derogatory regarding his wife (unforgiveable in my eyes) and to all women, he is clearly a msysogenist and a homophobic nasty...

So just incase I am booted..to all I have had the pleasure to correspond with over the last few months, I bid a fond farewell.

Dee xx

Dee

Which of the personal insults, "windbag" "misogynist" or "homophobic" least contravenes the board rules?

I have not edited your post and would ask others not to do so unless requested by Wyn as they are fairly low level insults but nevertheless insults.

We all come across people we don't get on with in life, both in the real and cyber worlds. In the real world it's easier sometimes to avoid them but if in the cyber world then just try to ignore them (a luxury not afforded to moderators as we scan at least all threads).

I hate to see anyone go, but I honestly haven't seen any examples of action by the mods to shut down an opposing arguement so if the board rules which are for the benefit of all are adhered to then there shouldn't be a problem.

Happy Posting all

Deecyprus,

I must take issue with you on this, have you ever met John Cooper ?

He and his wife are two of the nicest people on the planet, his sense of humour is to put it mildly teasing, to put it bluntly 'wicked' his wife has posted in response to his jibes on a number of occasions (when the asylum governer lets her have access to a puter, which is not too often) this is all fun, pity you cant recognise it for what it is.

John is a passionate man and loves 44 and other sites, he speaks as he finds and one cannot fault him for that, please do not castigate him he is undeserving of it

I have never actually met John, but have spoken on matters on the phone a couple of times, and quite a number of times by email. He is politeness personified.

Remember, many of his posts are written whilst he has his tongue firmly in his cheek.

All I would say is that when I posted a call to help a young TC chap (see post here): http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/7260.asp

John is so "thoroughly unpleasant" that he arranged and bought the items required, and eventually with the help of some others got the goods to Cyprus. The family of the boy are extremely grateful.

I think what a lot of people hide from is 'the truth' and John speaks it 'as he sees it', nothing wrong with that, it's called opinion, like others post opinions, like there is an opinion in msg #1, a right to which Dee upholds in msg #9. So, allow others the same priviledge.

John will certianly not complain about insults so trivial.

Oh dear......yet another post about "unfair" moderation, and "good" posters having to leave.

Don't be a martyr......if you want to leave, then just leave....but leave quietly and with dignity.

This is a messageboard.....a lively discussion forum for people to come together and share information, views and opinions.

It is NOT a cliquey ex-pat watering hole for people with one mind-set to come and whinge and moan about others!

Use the forum selectively....you don't have to read or respond to everything and everyone!

I have to agree with deecyprus, especially seeing he has twice singled us out for his caustic wit. I have had several emails from him telling me to check my facts after he accused us of something he got completly wrong. His "Appology" (this is how it was spelt) was a very weak attempt at saying sorry, but we let it go. Then again last week he started again, so yes dee we agree.

Dee...msg 15.

Sorry...I just don't understand your cryptic reply....is it an "in-joke" ?

The points I raised were valid.

Some people don't like moderation full stop....but would run a mile if they were asked to do the same job!

The-Wicks, sadly there are people in this life that cause a stir and then say what did I do, this insiduous little man is a prime example

Coachie I am one of the easiest going people & I don't hold a grudge, but dee has supported us & we would now show her our support. Not everybody can get on together, as with anything in life, as in this case. If no more animosity is shown we are more than happy to draw a line under this. I take it we can still buy you a drink in June.

It is obvious Deecyprus4 that you dislike Wyn intensely, but as Harold points out you do not get on with everyone in this world, so you have to live with it.

I have never met Wyn and those that have say his jokes about his wife are purely that, jokes, I think some laugh with him rather than at him, and his wife is fully aware of his observations of her 'sanity'.

I rarely post now, but do read some of the posts I think are relevant, just to keep abreast of the situation. When I joined this forum we did not have the plethora of moderators we have now, probably due to our numbers being smaller than they are now, and Izzet plus a couple more could keep on top of it not that they had to moderate much (if my memory serves me right) and I suspect it is because we respected each others opinions and values, yes we had debates/discussions/disagreements but it did not descend into the insults/abuse/ sarcasm that seems to appears far too frequently on this forum.

Dee cyprus

I cannot get my head round the need for you post in the first place unless it was to rekindle old flames and reopen old wounds, stoking the fire jumps to mind, in my humble opinion, you would be better served ignoring what you dislike about the said member and channelling your efforts into something constructive, after all YOU started this thread not said member so you obviously want to keep things going, your message 25 confirms this, at no time has he even entered this discussion

Over to you

Following on from message 26, I also think there are persons on here who 'multiple post'. They have 2 or 3 or even 4 different names and post rubbish and various statements in order to cause arguments against the other posters. I'm not a gambling man but I'd certainly lay money on it.
