Do we have any more info regarding new border laws with dairy food etc. with regards to bringing over the above metioned foodstuffs for our increasingly expensive and choosy pets?

Last time there was a ban it included pet food and I would imagine it will be the same this time.

My friends had their DRY cat food confiscated during the last ban because it contained meat !!! Why not give them chicken necks? They are very cheap..

When the ban on meat/dairy products came into force it was not made

clear why (It was assumed by the press that too much money was going in the

wrong direction) Scrapie, is now sited as the reason. My dog eats/likes dog food

from Carrefour - is there Scrapie in Belgium ? Can the disease be picked up by a

sealed container ?

mick,

hubby was speaking with the butcher who is a tc who works in orphanides.

he thought that the ban was only on produces from south cyprus.

so that you could buy european products but not ones produced in south cyprus?

we always bring back our dog food, we were stop during the last banned and had nothing confiscated.(i think this was because the dog food was tinned)

we haven't been stopped this time yet!

During the last ban (due to foot & mouth in the South) we were banned from bringing tinned and dry pet food across although we pointed out was made in Spain! So we turned around and gave it to a pet owner in the South! at least some pet got the best of it.
