Hi Rosie,

we fly to Larnaca every year and hire a car and drive to the north, But make sure you do tell the hire company to see if they let you.

You might get away with not telling them, but if anything goes wrong you might be in trouble and then just make sure you get the insurance at the border.

If I was you I would contact the different hire companys without giving contact details to see who does it and who does not, then if they don@t you can still get insurance but it will be your risk.

The only thing I think could go wrong is if the car breaks down and it cannot be fixed, and needs them to take it back then when they ask where you are your going to say in the north, and then you might get some swearing down the phone.

Thanks.

David

Hi Rosie,

We have used economy car rentals & found them to be reliable & curteous & have no problem with you taking a car north. However it will be down to you if anything goes wrong, you would be expected to get it back across the border. On the other hand you could arrange for a hire company from the north to pick you up & you will then be charged less than the normal taxi fare.

There are many car hire firms in the north, most good some bad, but your question was about hiring in the south and taking car north, there is no problem as long as you have insurance, izzet has on this board an advert for a car hire company from the south why not contact them they are very good and dont mind advertising here
