Just sat here and typed a good long post and done something stupid and deleted it.

Will say this, if you are a guy and have never been to the VIVA....go ! your eyes will pop out at your head..At the MINI SKIRTS on display. Shocking exploitation of young girls to help keep your mind OFF what your doing with your money. One of them even asked me out....'think' she was from Saudı Arabia.

AND gotta tell you this one.....For the more enterprising among you. The Savoy was doing a Bingo promotion last week...5,000 Lira to the winner. They sold 7 tickets and I was told by two turkish guys that they never even played. It was 50 lira a ticket. So I was going to go and buy 10 tickets, which would have given me 4/6 chance of winning what would have been a 9/1 bet..not bad odds hey ?

we went to jasmin court a few times with friends.

one evening i had a head ache and sat back and watched what went on.

all those natasha's drewling over anyone who was spending and winning, what a wh--e house.

couldn't even get an efes!

i called a cab and went home, just saw the true sleaze of the place.

casinos and gambleing are for saps.

and before you ask no we didn't loose, lol.

we just prefer a nice enviroment to spend the evening in.

Totaly correct Fire !!...that's why I didn't re-type the original post......The Jasmine is considerably run down and the rest are pretty nice inside, but that is about it...wouldn't waste my money on them---AT ALL !!! but alas they are here to stay...maybe just as well hey ? or this place would have a lot less money floating around it to pay all the council....staff....AND ı do wonder where would the government then look for their Bakşish ????????

Viva is one of the better managed casinos on the island, they do not depend on local business, there are consistantly profitable and very succesful because of their huge data base of customers from turkey. Every weekend they will have 60-100 customers flying in to play for three days. The idea of any business it to get customers through the doors. Just because a girl wears a short mini skirt it does nt mean she is a cheap prostitute, its her uniform. Here she will earn over 1000 dollars a month, mostly the girls are from Krgzystan kazakhstan and moldova etctrying to better themselves.Their average salary there would be maybe 300 dollars in Moldavia or Krgyzstan, 600 in Kazakhstan.

And yes I am a casino expert. Thirty years in the business, Over ten years as Casino Director, and more than ten years before that as manager.

Casinos here for sure do not need the british players, and do not market them. 95 percent are of no value, it was illegal for turkish cypriots to even enter a casino, they will be arrested and both the customer and the casino will be fined. The casino can infact loose its licence for consistantly breaking this law. Most turkish cypriots that I have come across are usually good value for the casino as players.

Barabus Please Please Please encourage as many people as possible into the casinos. We love system players, card counters , card trackers or wheel watchers. Seen and heard it all before, I am sure some casinos would even pay you a commision. Good Luck, make lots of Money

fire starter,

I remember when the Jasmine Court welcomed Brits with open arms and you could get a family suite (more like a large apartment) plus breakfast for tuppence ha'penny. Stayed there many a time and the Green Room buffets were a sight to behold. Then they started getting greedy about fast food orders and after that all thery wanted were freeloading gamblers from Turkey. Sad really.

pull what other one

you think the casinos encourage girls to have sex with customers or cheat on their behalf.

The casinos get girls from night clubs for the casino players, jasmine court has been open for at least 12 years, you think customers would nt know and talk and scream very loudly if they thought they were being scammed. Northern Cyprus is a big village everyone knows every one elses business, they would be closed down in days. Blackjack is dealt from a shoe, or shuffling machine. You cannot cheat with a shuffling machine.

Na-na-na...Craig, I am in total agreement with almost everything you have said........but 'that' in the VIVA is NOT a uniform !! it is provocation !! and a shoe would be pretty hard to cheat from......especially for some unknown reason in a few place iv'e been in hand shuffled cards. Tend to return a beter % than from a shuffler......But if any woman wants a game of guessssss ? what.....i'm afraid i'll have to deal them from my hands and if I do that. I definately know who the percantage will favour.

Craig

You seem a very sensible man who talks a lot of sense, so why the cheap looking over the top neon signs at the Pia Bella, puts you off going in.

well the neon was the cheapest way to draw attention to the new casino, they made a law to ban casino advertising on bill boards. So neon was the option chosen to draw attention to customers who drive past the building.

No, a shuffle machine will return a better pc because there is no downtime, a constant shuffle and not possible to count cards or track cards.

Hi Lilli, I opened and oversaw the construction of the casino in the Pia Bella hotel, Green Zodiak, which was an investment of nearly 6 million dollars. It was last month sold to the investors of Malpas Casino. I am currently involved in another line of business now.

Most casinos on the island have their own data base of players that they have built up over many years. They would be predominantly turkish, some casinos were owned and run by israelies and they brought there clients from israel every week too. Many casinos try to get greek cypriots to come to them. Most casinos have people that bring groups of players to them, these group leaders get a percentage of the customers loss, but they also give their players credit .Casinos will pay for all a players all expenses for their trip if they comply to the conditions that the casino asks. All casino games have a built in percentage for the house.

Played in a texas holdem turny at the Merit last year (50,000 usd prize fund) and believe I was the only English person there. No cigar but a great evening for the 500 usd buy in. Generally play at the Colony which I find the best visited, though believe the value game being the wheel where backing even money shots only gives the house about 1 and half % edge.

Like playing the stud poker against the dealer but know the odds are against me.

Any tips appreciated.

Although I said ask me anything about the casinos. Craig obviously knows more (not completely my field)......but stay away from doing stupid things like splitting tens at blackjack.......Plus I saw a report form Vegas a while back don't know about it's accuracy (wouldn't think it was right), but it said the casinos there didn't like people playing the stud poker.......and 'staying in' and not folding no matter what hand they had.

I just need £10 as I have just hit a bad streak.
