so glad to say that after a 3 week visit to look at property..i did not buy anything. was offered a lot of very tempting deals..but this is just a wild west town. feel sorry for anyone who has bought here, nothing to be gained..lots to be lost......never ever buy off-plan. good luck

Lots to be gained to, weather, great friendly people.fantastic beaches, untouched places of interest , perhaps you weren't really seriously about buying, why not a resell? or perhaps you havn't got the neccessary bottle for buying in TRNC. thankfully not everyone has thats one of the benefits.

good luck anyway.

just visited and bought off-plan, what a beautiful place and great for the kids too, no tat shops and no fast food outlets apart from burger city, just friendly people and great weather. best curry ever at the courtyard inn, try it whenever you visit.

eager,

I think you have the wrong "handle" (eager) I agree with simbas, wonderful people, wonderful country, yes you have to be careful buying property, but thats the same for any country, look at the fiasco in the UK, all the estate agents and soliciters in the UK are totaly honest, I dont think so, I put them in line with politicians, lying theiving & out to line thier own pockets, but that is a generalisation, I am sure there are some honest estate agents & lawers, Not sure about politicians though.

Buy and enjoy the country and people but buy carefully do your homework.

Hi Eager

I am not sure where you are coming from. You made exactly the same comments back in May. I looked at your previous posts

eager, what were you looking for? neon lights, a linekers bar and tattoo shops?

this place is an emerging market as is Morrocco, Egypt, Brazil, Central America, the ex-communist countries of Europe, Thailand, Dubai etc etc. if you have a low threshold for risk and need to feel safe and cosy dont go to any of these places. saying that even Spain and Florida are risky places to buy! so whats left at North Cyprus prices? a beach hut in Bognor Regis?

i would be interested to know what makes this place the 'wild west'? in fact using eagers analogy isnt the wild west where people went to make their fortunes? there be gold in them thar hills!

hi eager (maybe not so)

not sure what your point is mate!!!!

what is the point in you going over to north cyprus to look at properties and wasting agents time in showing you places where you have no intention on buying when you feel north cyprus is like the wild west

maybe you are better of suited in buying in the south of cyprus with all the other british who feel beter being around mac donalds, burger king, english breakfasts and the lovely spoilt beaches where all the club 18-30s people are!!!

north cyprus is a ideal investment place not just for money issues but for unspoilt beaches, the sceanary, the most freindliest people compared to greek cypriot people!!!!

the housing market can be a bit daunting to newbies i.e dodgy builders and agents but if you keep to the advice of most of the people on this forum you cant go wrong!!! why not consider a resale property if you have second thoughts about buying off plan or even better buy in spain or france where where all the brits are welcomed with open arms not!!!!!

a word of advice mate you should not feel sorry for all of us who have bought - live or who is cypriot we should feel sorry for you who has wasted your time, money and efforts to look for something in the wild west!!! i would say its not the wild west more like something out of the godfather lol

take care and good luck in your search for your bit of paradise

ukturk

Did I miss a posting between 1 and 2 because you seem to be answering yourself in post 2, maybe you meant to post the second message on a different topic, who knows

Howdy eager

Cannot decide on your motives for this repeat performance probably wish to be contentious.

I agree with what my fellow 44'ers have written, it would appear to be your loss and our gain.

As jesse ukturk james has written are you going to enlighten us further with your pearls of wisdom??

Good luck where ever you end up.

Hmm Well excuse me ukturk but I am one of the so called other british people and I maybe a bit of an Annie Oakley myself but my preference would be North Cyprus every time the weather is beautiful the place itself is very beautiful and as for the people fantastic, I just cannot understand where eager is coming from either is he blind?? on the hole I really think that this guy would be tons better off buying in Blackpool.
