I came here with 4 other guys.......guess how many are left ??....recon you gotta have a certain amount of mental toughness to put up with it ? Going into the shower and your water running out when when you are covered in shampoo. Getting up in the morning and your elecrticity disappearing before the water has boiled for your morning cuppa. Your telly more of an ornament than an entertainment device. Being promised help from a couple of people that never materialised. The company you work for taking 3 months to put in place any of the changes you advise. The pack of dogs following you home every night, cause you can't help feeding them. All the sexy undearwear shops you pass, when you ain't got a woman here to try them on...lol The increased alcohol intake you don't want but NEED. The weather that you got out of the UK to escape. BUT hey listen this ain't moan...cause I love this place. Will be here for ever and just like the Murphy's..I ain't ????

Ha ha welcome to Cyprus. Check the water before you commit yourself, ditch the electric kettle and get one to go on the gas, take in one of the lovely doggies and dress it some sexy underwear. Second thoughts, maybe not. How about walking the lovely, cute doggies and hope to meet a lovely lady on your travels. The sun will be here non-stop soon and you'll be praying for Winter and some rain!!

I know that Fire....just being sarcastic and trying to give some people a laugh. back in the old country...i'm a very, very laid back guy, but here i'm supersonic !! and I think this place will suit me very well. However just now I have a çok çok bad cold and I have no electric nor water in my app......But as I said. Like the Murhpy's. and i've actually had a pretty productive day.

When we first got our place, there were things that did not run smoothly, getting an electric meter for one, water coming in through the ceiling via the ceiling rose, that did wonders for the electrics. Friends said we would look back & laugh and they funny thing is they were wrong. Seriously we do look back & have a little smile. P

Barbarus, how long have you been there? Hang on a bit longer, the winter is short, it will start warming up again About the cold: it chills u to the bone, its those winds blowing in from the snow capped Turkish mountains youre all finding out about the "kind"of cold you get in Cyprus, I thought it was only me that thought it different from anywhere else. Last winter I was there, I couldn't keep warm, the only consolation was the luxury of the electric blanket but I didn't want to stay in bed all day. Cyprus mentality will change but not in my lifetime, so try and adjust before you know it the flocks of tourist will be there and the country will wake up again. It can get very dismal and boring in the off season, pretty sad walking around the harbour at night now. Sorry I dont have a more positive reply for you.

When you all basked in the sun in summer and rubbed it in the faces of the ones stuck in cold summer of UK, guess what, beautiful sunny day here in sunny California, taking the top down on the Mustang and heading for a drive up to Santa Barbara (big grin), its 79 F here today. Now cuddle up. (bigger grin).

Hi Maggie, pleased to hear the fire basket is performing to your satisfaction!! Augusta, we were the same today. Breakfast and lunch outside then log fire in the evening. Lilli, try getting a paraffin heater they are much much warmer than the gas ones. I also find a nice fluffy bathrobe does the trick!

The Wicks: Turbo - are you, by any chance, a member of "NAMEDROPPERS ANONYMOUS" I could drop a few really good names if you like, but to teach me a lesson, I think everyone else had the same idea, i was stuck in traffic for most of the trip. This is after all La La land , if you want a name dropped? , Sylvester Stallone was stuck in the same traffic as me, famous as they maybe, they can be stuck in traffic just like the rest of us. Nout he could do about it. (BTW he looks really bad these days). LOL, it was a really beautiful day . Did anyone get a good look at the moon, it seemed huge tonight. The closest it will be to earth for another gazillion years.
